    Not really. Some are referencing contacts with a registered sex offender out of Kentucky. All the links show is a picture Anzalone took with him, but nothing incriminating. Apparently our compliance dept. identified the guy over the past week and notified all athletes that he was a registered sex offender and to stay away from him. Then Anzalone abruptly decommits. Weird.

  • I can't help but wonder if maybe Anzalone accepted some kind of benefit from this nutjob while he was here and maybe Urban found out about and told him there's no way he can accept his commit at this point due to probation, etc. ? Just thinking out loud.

    It just seems like something really fishy is going on with an abrupt decommit and now not even considering OSU after he and his family were talking us up over the past 2 weeks. Something happened or the coaching staff found out about something. We just don't know what.

    The timing of AA's decision would say so but I don't understand why he would even consider us then going through the worst sex scandal in NCAA history. He's proven that having his brother enrolled at PSU and being close to home doesn't factor to him that much. Did theNeal decommit have to do with this guy as well? I was under the impression he recieved a LSU offer and is about to pounce on that. I think if Bosa follows suit it would be telling but I agree with you guys seems there may be something more to this story.

    I would tend to think that the sex offender thing was not the primary reason. Creepy yes, but not a reason to change your mind on a school you were pumped about playing for. This is a weird one.

    Yeah I'm seeing some speculation (as well as coming up with some of my own) that it's possible this creepy clown may have bought some food/drinks for Anzalone on his visit or something and Urban may have found out and pulled the plug asking Anzalone to bail.

    If that were the case, wouldn't it be an NCAA violation and wouldn't Coach Meyer have to report it? I know that the Compliance Dept told athletes not to let him contact them, but it would still be a secondary, right?

  • I am so pissed I am at a loss for words. I have a 2yr old son and the thought of this guy taking pics with under age kids makes me want to cave this dudes skull in. The idea that he even exists after being convicted of having photos of naked under aged boys makes my blood boil but when you add in the fact that he has tried to pose as a die hard Buckeye fan in attempt to live out his perverted fantises just make me want to end his life. Child molesters have serve no purpose what so ever. My heart goes out to Alex and his parents. If it was me, I would've freaked out too. Bottom line is, this sick fucker needs either life in prison or the chair. Fuck him.

    Not sure -- the only reason I think something like that wouldn't affect us is because he isn't signing with us. If he signed with us or any school in that situation then it could be looked at as a competitive recruiting advantage. Otherwise, any fan of any school could travel to a rival's school dressed up as a fan of the rival school and try to buy some drinks or some food for somebody saying "welcome to Michigan" or "thanks for coming to Penn State", snap some photos and it's a scandal. Seems like that could be a huge loop hole.
