Check out AZ WR Devon Allen's latest escapades.
All he did was win a total of five gold medals—four in a four-hour span Saturday night in front of an SRO crowd at the prestigious 45th Arcadia, CA Invitational. He set state records in the 110-meter high hurdles in 13.52 seconds (#2 in the USA this year...and don't forget Teddy G was a hurdler) and the 300-meter intermediates in 36.39, captured the 200 dash by the slimmest of margins at 21.10—all after warming up by running a leg on his school's 4x100 relay team that clocked a glittering 41.15. And on Friday night, he ran a leg on the its gold medal shuttle hurdle relay team.
For some perspective, as a senior at Glenville, Teddy G ran the 110m high hurdles in 13.26 (+2.8 wind rating) and 13.40 (-1.2 wind rating), the 200m in 21.16 (+0.0 wind rating), and 36.73 in the 300 meter intermediate hurdles so Allen's not too far off Teddy's best times even though he's a year younger than Teddy was when he set his PRs.
With Foster and Fullwood out of the picture, maybe we'll see the heat on Devon start to pick up. His father supposedly grew up in Columbus and played baseball for OSU (although I wasn't able to find anyone named Allen who played for the Buckeyes within the past 50 years, not that that means anything these days).

IF this is in fact true, UFM is doing the right thing. We are on probation for the next few years and we can't afford any headcases on this team during that time, its just too risky. I would reserve judgement on Foster personally until something a bit more concrete than internet rumors surfaces though. This certainly wouldn't be the first time the coaching staff has abruptly cut off communications with a questionable recruit after a vist as the same thing happened with Diamond and Neal.

So was this what Foster has to apologize for?
If so, BFD. Not sure I would lean too much on a kid crying about getting up early. Hell he's a teenager. No need to make this kid bow on bended knee for that.
Shit I thought he did something like slap Urban or grabbed a secretary's ass while on a recruiting visit!
Some out there in Buckeye nation take the behavior of these kids and themselves way to frackin' seriously. Give the kid a chance and allow him to decide where he wants to play.
If he's really out of the picture then that would be too bad!
What evidence is there that he's out of the picture nor has interest in continuing the conversation with the Bucks?
GO BUCKS!

He had to get up early for a long drive and bitched about it. He's 17 years old. That, by itself, should give him a free pass...but it's the only one. He's learned a tough lesson. It's like they say--the best thing about college freshmen is they become sophomores, and the best thing about HS juniors is they become seniors, who become college freshman. His physical gifts are way ahead of his emotional maturity. Not that tennagers have a moratorium on doing and saying stupid things. Hell, NFL players in their 20s and 30s have voiced opinions things equally juvenile/insensitive.
So our fans weren't happy about it. Fortunately, fans don't get to choose who we recruit. If we did, we'd have at least 100 commitments by now, including 50 Ohio kids Urban hasn't offered. I'm hoping it's all a misunderstanding--much ado about nothing and he and Urban are square.
