  • Based on their 2012 seasons, Bosa, Burrows, Woodard, Anzalone are all be candidates to be upgraded to 5 stars, and Sprinkle, Thompson and Neal up to 4. It's hard for QBs to get upgraded to 5 stars; in fact, they're more likely to be downgraded if they don't have good receivers to throw to and blockers to protect them and open holes. Same with OLs. Elliott doesn't play against a very high level of competition so while he could put up monster stats, he probably won't be rated any higher than 4. Few TEs get 5 stars so Baugh's most likely stuck at 4. For some reason, Price's stock seems to have been dropping lately so he'll stay a solid 4.

Urban's got to make sure they don't waver, that they keep feeling the love. That means OVs for the scUM--get them back in the Shoe for a game that means something. Meanwhile, other schools are going to keep taking shots at these kids. As Tommy Bowden once said about recruiting other schools' commitments, "No means go."

so far we have the 3rd best class talent wise according to 247. Behind Bama & Texas. Most likely USC will be up there later in the season but we should finish off with a top 5 class

    No, Jalin Marshall committed first.

  • I don't want to sound greedy but any news on James Quick?

    markv

  • Honestly, I've never heard of the guy before. I'm sure he's a great player but I would rather take Shelton Gibson and Devon Allen over him.

Most recruiting sites have Quick as a top 10 WR, while Gibson and Allen are usually not in the top 20, and Scout has Quick as a 5 star as well. Just watching the films of those guys, I'd personally rather have Quick over both Gibson and Allen. I'm curious as to what some of the coaches think though.

No Burrows commited first. Burrows on January 17 and Marshall on January 31.

  • Maybe because he(Price) isn't going to every camp around....Watch this kid is a beast and his video doesn't lie ! I am thinking his senior year will be a better one!

Oh yeah, you're right. Now that I look it up, I see that. Let's get all three Quick, Gibson, and Allen!

Oh sure, I'll just pull a few schollies from existing players and just let the NCAA know that we collectively decided not
to pay attention to their sanctions.

    Hell why stop there? shrug

Tell them we just rehired Tressel, kept the damn money and penciled in the vacated season as we thought the
punishment/ sanctions were bull shit! biggrin

Dude if we could just say frack it and start adding kids at will that would be great! However, tOSU has an 82 schollie limit that must be adhered to, so I am not sure that the Buckeyes can add all of these dudes and OL recruits without pushing someone out.......errr....getting them to leave the team. This ain't Alabama or Ole Miss........uhoh

    It doesn't work that way.

  • I think with Quick's name alone he should earn 4 stars.

Why do you think Billy Price's stock dropped so severely since he came on the scene?
I remember he was rated in the top 25 before he tanked into the 200's with sports247.

Now that Neal committed to OSU, I predict he will be upgraded to a 4 before his season starts.
His motor runs. He is a Beast.

Good point, you're right. I just get over excited about all of these players sometimes. I would go with two receievers in this class, Quick and Gibson.
