Looks more like David Rivers with that short side arm motion arm strength has always been a question with him,he is a great High School QB . I wish him the best of luck,I will trust our staff.
I met Montana at the peak of his playing days. He was definitely not 6'4" then, and he sure wasn't 6'4" as a Senior @ ND.
Badger Alumni, Lifelong Buckeye.
Verlon Reed, very good quarterback at Marion Franklin (dual threat). Could step up if the catastrophe you guys are dreaming up happened.
oh2fl said he shrunk!
Montana was an average sized QB at 6'-1 1/2" to 6'-2" in the late 70's he was never 6' 4" tall
I even heard it said he was almost too small to be a qb by today's standards at barely 200 lbs.
This kid has a lot to live up to to be called Joe Montana!
On January 2, 2012, I posted a list of recruits I wanted for OSU. Mitch Trubisky and Tra'Von Chapman were my top two quarterbacks and neither disappointed me. Trubisky had 4,500 yards total offense for a 12-2 team and Chapman had 3,600 for a 10-2 team.
Without question, Trubisky had an incredible senior season. And his stats really took off in the post-season--he stepped up when his team needed him to step up. That's the sign of a leader, winner and competitor, the best possible attributes for a quarterback.
J.T. Barrett was having a solid season of his own until he torn his ACL. Even without him, Wichita Falls Rider is 12-2 and in the state semi-finals. While there's no way to know, of course, it's reasonable to assume his team would have come just as far with him as it has without him.
Rider averaged 35.4 ppg in the games he played and 36.2 in the games he didn't. Like Mentor, they've gotten even better in the playoffs, averaging 43 ppg in four playoff games. It's pure speculation, of course, but had Barrett maintained the same statistical pace for the five games he played in over the nine games he didn't play, he would have racked up 2,100 yards passing and 1,600 yards rushing (3,700 yards total offense) with at least one more game to play. His passing stats wouldn't have been as impressive as Trubisky or Chapman but he would have had more rushing yards than both of them combined. Trubisky's passing stats were all-world but he averaged only 57 yards rushing per game. Urban's spread-option requires a more mobile quarterback than I think Trubisky is capable of being week in and week out. And I've been a big Trubisky fan since I first heard his name.
I wish Trubisky and Chapman both nothing but the best but we have the quarterback Urban and Herman wanted in J.T. Barrett, who probably won't start before 2015, while Trubisky could start in 2014 (Bryn Renner will be a senior in 2013) and Chapman could start as a freshman (Sunseri's graduated). And that's something that may be getting overlooked in this discussion: maybe Urban wanted Trubisky but Trubisky didn't want to wait two years.
Anybody seen this guy lately? lol
Cardelle Jones is the joke that ask why they even had to attend class since they are there just to play football. Urban would not have wasted a scholarship on this " student athlete". Tress and Fickel wanted to keep the "pipeline" intact for their moronic reasons.
Pipelines are not moronic. Tarblooders helped win a bunch of games at OSU. I agree Jones is moronic, but not the pipeline.
Are you 12 or 13? You are more paranoid than anyone with whom I have ever conversed. You don't know me! I don't abuse animals, women (notice the spelling) or myself, but I do abuse little wussies like you.
Mitch Trubisky will go to North Carolina in a rebuilding situation for a coach that is unproven in BIG time programs, even if he is the next Joe Montana He will likely be no better than 9-3 prob get beat to death while doing it.
I wish him the best and lets move on!
Ohio State never wanted him!
Well said George! We got a bunch of good ones from Glenville!!!!!
You recruit where the athletes are, that was where they were!
That wr mentor had was pretty damn good I watched him dogwalk the db from st eds all night were is he going
So oh2fl is mitch's dad right?
Also "that qb from Texas" lol. It's JT Barret if you are an tOSU fan.
Trubisky, now the #3 dual qb by 247 you mean. That same site also has "that guy from texas" as the number 1 dual threat qb. If you are going to use a website to show everyone how much tOSU will regret taking "that guy from texas" over Trubisky, you may not want to use one that likes "that guy from texas" more than Trubisky.

I believe his name is Brandon Fitz.
Bucknuts has had a few articles on him and I know he is receiving attention from D1 schools. He has not commited anywhere yet. Bucks are slightly interested. You know how Urb is. We already have guys like him on the roster in Evan Spencer and Michael Thomas (A few more like him are transferring). We need burners right now. Plus next years WR prospect Derek Kief already has Fitz's measurables and looks 2 times better in his video.
Those who leave, will be champions. - Justin Boren
for his sake, I hope so. Good luck to him.
I was really impressed by him throughout the playoffs he went up an just took the ball even on bad passes he will be good at the next level imo.On another topic I'm from massillon an watched a kid that's in 8th grade this yr he is 6-3 190 an is a qb the kid is amazing could start as a freshman next yr an is already getting looked at by tenn an some other schools also being coached by geroge whitfield who has coached big ben cam newton an andrew luck he wants to be a buckeye when urban came here to talk to conley I'm sure he saw film on this kid wonder what he thought about him
How can you say that? Remember your stupid comment when he is doing the same in D1 competition.
