I trust that Urban Meyer knows a little more about recruiting than any anyone who would question him on this board.
Where has it been stated by someone in any position of real authority or knowledge that we passed on Neal in order to get Diggs? Schools are not permitted to comment on prospects until after they've signed so there is NO WAY that particular bit of information came from OSU. It's nothing more than conjecture, people adding 1 and 1 and coming up with 3. I stated in another thread that if Urban wanted them both and they both wanted to come, he would find a way to get them in S&G.
If we passed on Neal, Urban had to have a good reason. If Neal passed on us, I respect he has his reasons. He can only sign with one school. And not only can't we take everybody who may want to play for Ohio State, we don't have to, either.
This is Urban Meyer's team.
In Urban I Trust.
Agreed, really is another way of saying, "Don't jump to conclusions, we don't know anything yet."
That's my take, anyway.
We do know that OSU did in fact pass on Neal.
We do not know why (see link).
And FWIW - Alex at 11W stated that it was Diamond that was having the "drug" issues (either on Urbans in home visit or on Diamonds campus visit).
The speculations with Neal are that they are "father" related issues that caused OSU's "snub".
Regardless, its over and we are moving on. And I for one am fine that these two are not part of the ELITE class of 2012 Buckeyes.

That's why I read and post on this board. To receive accurate information. Thank you.
You know Carolina is dirty...and Arkansas is dirty......coincidence>> I think not........
There is a good reason that Meyer and Co. pulled Neal's offer, the kid fit exactly what they needed and was a top 50 kid in the country, he was top 10 on espn. There is a lot of speculation and rumors on why, but nobody in the know has come out and said anything...which they likely won't because there is no reason to.
I am happy he is not a Buckeye to be honest because we don't need another TP on campus.
I don't think passing on Neal was a mistake, and not getting Diggs on top of it is not a tragedy.
Everybody says Urban wants another "Percy Harvin" in his offense. Nobody considers that Percy Harvin's are rare. SEE Orlando Pace, Ted Ginn, Mike Nugent, etc...
Ray Small wasn't another "Ted Ginn." Neal and Diggs probably aren't another "Percy Harvin" either.
OSU has plenty of WRs with potential. A player like Jordan Hall can be used like Harvin. However, Urban's offense will have to be tweaked from what it looked like at Florida when he had Tebow and Harvin due to different personnel, different climate, different conference, etc...
I still dont believe any of the stupid rumor mongering.
This is all like little girl BS.
I will wait until 2/21 and see if Neal picks OSU and Urban accepts his commitment.
Anything else is speculation. I am not listening to anyone else's speculation and stories of he said this and he did this BS!
I am not sure anyone pulled his scholarship, and I am not sure who is passing what BS.
Why is this kid getting such a bad rap on him without any SOUND facts?
Agree, it isn't fair to the kid. OSU will be fine without him or Diggs, and Neal will play elsewhere. The rumors are silly.
I really think Devin Smith is going to produce bigtime. He's like a bigger / faster Sanzenbacher -- catches everything and runs good routes.
