UFM might see him as a hybrid h-back type. I heard some compare to Robert Smith but he ran a sub 4.4 and Ty Isaac said he runs 4.6. He seems like he may out grow running back. Maybe our version of Aaron Hernandez.
PS. Those kids must suck he's playing against
Freakish stats but..... his video doesn't show anything that makes me confident he can run through people (doesn't mean he can't). Virtually all of the runs are the same play and he is basically untouched. I really think he plays in a sub-par league or his O line was #1 in the country.
OK, here's the really scary thing about this kid: As a junior, Issac split time in the backfield with Malin Jones, a 6-foot, 205-pound senior who rushed for 4,087 yards and 57 touchdowns in his career at Joliet Catholic--including 195 carries, 1,682 yards, 25 TDs; 8 catches, 322 yards, 3 TDs in 2011--and signed with Northwestern last week. Jones was ranked Scout's #42 RB. That's 4,200 rushing yards and 76 rushing TDs out of one backfield! Somehow, Joliet Catholic lost the the 5A state championship game 70-45 even though Issac had 515 rushing yards, the most in Illinois history. Illinois has 8 classes and Issac and Jones were both named first team Elite all-state by the Chicago Tribune, which means the best 22 players in Illinois regardless of their school's class. That's two RBs from the same HS both named 1st team all-state in the same season...how often does that happen? Has it ever?

Joliet Catholic is far from sub-par. They are a fantastic football program, an Illinois powerhouse. They are 5A but play a much tougher schedule, going as high as 8A schools. They were state champs in 1975, 76, 77, 78, 81, 87, 90, 99, 2000, 01, 03, 04 and 07 and runners-up in 1992, 96, 09 and 11. They are in the East Suburban Catholic Conference, which is made up of 13 Catholic High Schools in the Chicago suburbs, and most of them play in a class above Joliet Catholic. I could be mistaken but I believe one year the ESCC had state champs in three different classes.
Alums include Bucs FB Mike Alstott, actress Melissa McCathy, Ed Mikan and Bears OT Tom Thayer. Its most famous alum--although notorious may be a better word--is Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger
Here's the link to Junior year highlight real...
They run like an option style, weird variation of wishbone offense...seems like half of his highlights are either an off tackle or a quick reverse style run where he ends up getting the ball on a hand off from another back. Either way the kid has great vision and speed...he seems to get to the second level of the defense quickly and just hit the afterburners from there.
I went to school at Joliet Catholic, and met him when he was freshman when I was a Junior, he is a very driven and respectful kid. We always play the best the state has to offer, it isnt at all the quality of high school ball there is in Ohio, but this kid is the real deal. As good as he is on the field, which is amazing, he is an even better person. That being said, he does have injury issues, but other than that you can't really ask for a better running back. He is big, fast, and very elusive for his size, I think he is like 6'2 220ish? He can flat out run you, or run you over. I plan on going to every game I can this year to see my alma mater do work, luckily I go to NIU, and can go see him play. I would love to see him in the Scarlet and Gray. I was born in Ohio, bleed scarlet and gray. And I will end with this, when I met him, I knew he was going to be great, and I told him one time when we were lifting in the weight room, "When you become big and famous, you better get your ass down to Columbus and lead my Bucks to some Championships, he just smiled, and said 'My dream is to hold that Crystal Ball.'" So basically, I dont know how he feels, I havent talked to him in about a year, but I am hoping he is seeing the promise in C-bus, and he still wants to hold that Crystal Ball! GO BUCKEYES BABY!

When everyone runs out...we run in. Support your firemen.
+1 excellent 1st person report
Yeah, I loved my time at JCA (Joliet Catholic Academy) some of the best times of my life, you know if you come from that school your head is screwed on straight haha if not, they straighten it for you. Never can go wrong with a player from JCA, that being said, If he goes to Michigan, I'm going to have to call him, and dis-own our friendship! haha jk jk
The team in the USC-like unis in the first 2:45 on Illinois' field is Montini. You'd think from his highlights Joliet Catholic blew them out but Montini beat them 70-45 for the 5A state championship.
What's the nature of his injuries?
On both of your comments, the Montini game in the State Championship was insane, just for the fact when you run for 500 + yards, you should kill a team, but when a Wide Reciever on Montini goes for 200 + yards, and you give up 700 yards, you wont win no matter what haha, and he has had some knee things, I think his soph. year? I don't rem. exactly, at JCA they try not to talk about injuries to much, they keep that stuff under wraps because they don't want the press to run with it, or something along those lines, I tore my labrum(sp?) my junior year, and the only people that knew about it, was my head coach, head trainer and my parents, until after the season when I got it repaired and then everyone knew haha. But yeah, I do believe that he had some small knee issues, and a shoulder if I am not mistaken. But don't take me to the bank on that haha
Yeah, That reciever that torched them, Jordan Westerkamp, 4-star WR going to Nebraska, he is a monster I won't lie to you good pick up for the children of the corn.
