Could they catch on?

  • Anybody else think it is ridiculous that we keep recruiting guys who can't catch the ball. Don't you think we would check that out before you offer him a schollie. Then there is that other guy we recruited who can run fast but can't cut. I am sure they came to a summer camp and we got to look at them so why do we end up with guys without the basic skills.

I would like to see Berry & Smith start the season sharing most of the playing time at running back and see how that works out.

This... Those two need to spit the carries fairly evenly, with whoever is "on" that Saturday getting the bulk of the carries.

  • I agree that you can't tell who is great till scrimmages and live games are played. Some players are not practice players anddont flurish till its game time.

  • They also take a lot of "conversion" guys at WR and DB, converting them from other positions, often QB. Obviously, they think it works, because they keep doing it. They must figure that they can teach it. We know that isn't always the case, but that holds true no matter how talented the recruit is.

We've had our share of 5 star guys not make it, so you can't put it to a specific issue. Perhaps we try to take a recruit and put them into a new position a little too often. No answer to your question, just the comment.

The closest that I will ever get to a Buckeye ring or Gold Pants. Saw it sold on e-bay April 29, 2011 for $8500.

  • we could be disappointed with the wideouts this year, but i'm excited to see the rbs. I think they'll all get their share of carries even hyde

  • Teams are (as usual) going to stack the box to stop the run. The big difference this year is the lack of a seasoned WR corps. As I am eager to see the RB's I can't help but worry that they will be bottled up all year if we don't get a passing threat. TE may be a nice outlet especially to pull a LB out of the box and we have a few of those don't we?
