He has to know that he will get playing time, its no secret. Im sure thats what meyer was selling him when we recruited him.

He wants to stay close to home. Less competition at Pitt too.

Pitt's OL coach is Jim Hueber. Bob Bobstad, the OL coach from Wisconsin, is the OL coach for the Tampa Bay Bucs.

Pitt and WVU wont be anywhere close to a title hunt the whole time he's in college. You've gotta wonder if the kid is more so of a softy. Does he just want to stay home and be content as the local star or is he willing to join the impending big10/ohio football revolution with a proven winner and serious coach in Urban Meyer?

When people say he wants to stay close to home.....it's almost as if OSU is on the other side of the country. If WVU is a factor in his recruitment, then OSU has to be in the picture unless he just doesn't feel the Bucks IMO

If Meyer and staff get the opportunity to make a sales pitch, I definitely like our chances. We have so much more to offer than Pitt.

I think OSU will start making more recruiting noise after the team starts playing and winning some games.
Playing and winning games is what really excited people.
A lot more people are excited about K-State football now than they were a year ago. That's what happens when you go 10-3 and play in the Cotton Bowl.
Unfortunately, even with Urban Meyer, the last time OSU played football they went 6-7. Unfortunately the cupboard isn't seemingly bare for OSU like it was when Michigan went 7-6 in 2010 and hired Hoke.

I would really love to get Johnson to commit to thee Ohio State Buckeyes that would be huge for this class and add Munger and we would be ahead of scheadule !!! That would solidify our big boys in this class!!

I understand he wants to play close to home but honestly Pitt and PSU are on opposite ends of the state of pa.
Pitt is really not far from tOSU at all. As a young kid myself growing up in Dillonvale Ohio I went to many Pitt games. It was a 50 mile trip.
The 65 mile trip to C-Bus was much more exciting though. Could not get to the shoe fast enough. S&G just ran through my blood.

Dillonvale is more than 65 miles from Columbus. Best check your odometer...
It is well over 100 miles, more like 125-130.
