Courtney Love (would have been a nice backup, happier with Anzalone)
Derrick Green (if we take a second back I hope it's in the Jordan Hall mode, we have enough bruisers)
Marcell Lazard (Not sure what happened, but if you choose WV over OSU then it's better we found out now that you didn't want to compete at the highest level)

This RIP list is open to additions.

You are kidding with this post, right?

RIP title and then you start naming kids as if.................shrug

I think I know what you are driving towards with this thread, but I have to tell you that it's in very, very poor taste to label this with a RIP as if kids are no longer among the living. I opened this thinking someone had passed away only to see you talking about recruiting. WTF??

Time to delete this thread from the top. FAIL!!!!!!

    call me confused....

    1) Has Green committed to Clemson?
    2) Using RIP in conjunction with kids who happen choose to a school other than OSU is, shall we say, unfortunate.

I don't DV much, but -1 to you chief.

Please delete this thread. You should have thought about this before you posted it. I get the idea, but you should have been more selective with your choice of words.

  • Love would have been nice....but we are now DEEP & ULTRA-TALENTED at the LB position. I say Smith & Kimbrough are the only 2 we'd take in this class. Remember the 2012 class of LBs we signed ... and Joe Burger is an addition who I think will be in the 2-deep by his Junior year, and if nothing else a solid, solid special teams player. After the 2010 season, special teams depth cannot be overlooked.
OSU is the REAL "Linebacker u" !

    +1 Sir....

Agree with you on this. I keep refreshing my browser hoping for a Kimbrough and Bosa commitment, as well as a Pocic, Neal, Gibson, Heuermen follow-up.

This would be me falling on the floor after this type of weekend!!

    clap

And I like your use of the phrase.............."ULTRA Talented"

    NICE!!!

Dude sensitivity has nothing to do with this. Hell I am the least sensitive person that I know of, hence the name/ moniker.
However, this is about common sense, which we all know isn't so common these days.

Would you be appreciative of someone listing YOUR kid's name under an email posted titled.......RIP? shrug

I know that I wouldn't. Its just disrespectful to these kids and I would imagine the other posters as well.

Why not just title the damn thread recruiting misses?

Just ease up with the RIP and references to death, and you should be okay, at least with me.

I changed the title and said no disrespect and you still are on the soapbox! I get it when someone says stupid shit I disagree or bust there chops. I don't come on a recruiting web site to talk politics or the obituaries. It was a term that was supposed to mean if your not a Buckeye then your no longer with us. If I offended anyone I'm sorry. Again, I didn't mean any disrespect.

    markv

  • Okay, I am with you now.

Dude I am on no soap box, so relax.

Can we talk recruiting now or are you too pissed to engage in discussion? shrug

Assuming that you are okay now, Lazard was the only one that I think hurts the Buckeyes.
The OL was/ is an area of huge need and its now time to move on to start to look at options.

Time to move to the second sheet of music and see who's worthy/ interested.

Anyone know if Coach Urb will open this thing up and go after JC recruits? I know the Buckeyes have been
loathe to go this route, however, this could be an area to explore. I think?

Unless there is a University policy to not bring in JCs and I am just not aware of it, but this should be
explored. The Bucks, IMO, need 2-3 OL to add to this great class.

If they can get K. Rodgers, L. Peterson and seal the deal with Pocic then they should be fine!
I would even add the kid Gray from the Wash DC who is a decent OT, which is clearly a need.

    Let's see what happens here.......

I was never really mad but I've been on here enough to understand how this stuff snowballs. I'm just here for the Buckeye talk not to make enemy's.
I hope Pocic doesn't break our hearts. This may open a door for the next best Ohio kid to get a offer. I also think UFM might turn up the heat on a big name national kid like Tunsil. We have playing time to sell that's for sure.

    markv

  • does anyone else think that very good o lineman might not want to come here because of the style of offense? Maybe they feel that the quick pace and quick reads might not let pro scouts accurately grade them? IDK, just wondering why we are not grabbing them easily like the other positions.

    Okay cool.

You mentioned Ohio kids that might get an offer. Who are u thinking about here and who would be an impact player in your mind?

Who would you like to see as an OL recruit?

I want to see the following:

    1) Lovell Peterson
    2) K. Rodgers (OG and looks like a damn beast)
    3) Any JCs?

    GO BUCKS!! clap

Maybe Lovell but it seems like Urban would rather recruit tackles that can flex down to guard or center. Would have liked to see Dorian Johnson make a trip to c-bus yesterday. I think with our numbers kids would be chomping at the bit?

    markv

  • Pocic is really the highest priority kid we're going after this year and perhaps another offensive lineman. I think bringing in another defensive back is a priority to Meyer and so Bell would also be a big prize. James Quick and perhaps another big offensive playmaker would be important, maybe Gibson or maybe someone else. Heuerman and Bosa only because they are considered "tOSU leans." We can't necessarily count on Smith (a commitment from him would be wonderful) although linebacker is not the highest priority need position this year. Should be interesting to see how this all pans out for us this year.

  • Peterson was Braxton's center when he was a sophomore but I believe he played. OT as a junior. Suddenly, with Bobek's alleged slow development and Linsley having to slide over from guard, center has become a position of need. I honestly thought Peterson would have gotten an offer and committed by now because of Braxton and because Huber Heights runs a spread but I accept that OL is the most difficult position to project and urban and Warinner need more time to evaluate them.

  • Didn't have the pleasure of seeing the OP in it's original form, but don't hate the kids who don't choose OSU - they are just that, kids, and they need to do what they feel is best for themselves. You can't really go wrong if get a free scholly to a major university. Ok. I'm done. I think we need to pick up a few more OL - Pocic for sure and I hope we take a look at Lovell P. Smith, and Bosa sound like they may be strong possibilities but seriously these kids aren't even seniors. There will be plenty of kids who hit growth spurts and gain skills over the summer and will garner serious consideration by the time the football season rolls around.

    GO BUCKS!!!

    Yeah, I said it.
