"I was immature and impulsive when I first committed to Ohio State," Kalis said. "I was so excited to get the offer and my family is all Ohio State fans, so I thought I was making the right decision at the time."

Kalis, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive tackle, first committed to Ohio State after the third game of his junior season. Then things changed. Following the dismissal of head coach Jim Tressel and subsequent trips to Michigan, Kalis made his final decision to go to Michigan.

"I grew up a lot since then," he said. "I went up to Michigan with my dad and felt like it was right for me, and I really didn't feel that same love for Ohio State that my family does and I once did."

Kalis said he knew what to expect when he made the change.

"My family and I talked about it," he said. "My dad wanted to prepare me for the backlash and the repercussions of my choice."

The public outcry was still there and still negative.

"The Ohio State message boards were out of control," he said. "The fans went crazy, a couple of them posted on my Facebook page, 'Good Luck,' and things like that, but the most part was pretty negative."

Neither has any inkling to switch back, but both understand that they are now the sworn enemy to fanbases that initially embraced them.

"I know some people are still mad," Kalis said. "What matters to me is my family, and so long as they are rooting for me at Michigan it's all good.

"But if they are still rooting for Ohio State, though, there could be problems."

Yes! +1000! I see 8 more kids in this class. We have 19 now and we're allowed 25 except Dunn and Perry are both enrolling early and can be credited to the 2011 class, which only had 22 (it was originally 24 but Ejuan Price left and Cardale Jones went to FUMA). That means we only have 17, which leaves 8 to get to the maximum of 25. I know we have 9 scholarships we have to give up to be at 76 total by 2014 but I am trusting Meyer is well aware of that and will have it taken care of it by then. In Urban I Trust.

This class is just too critical and I think he'll max it out. I see 3 OLs and they may not be the obvious ones (Diamond, Dodson and O'Connor). If we need 3 OLs, why would he put all his eggs in just 3 baskets? He needs to be talking to other guys. Why not Andrus Peat (AZ), Zach Banner (WA), Avery Young (FL), Kyle Murphy (CA), Josh Garnett (WA) or Arik Armstead (CA), Top 10/5-star OLs who are all supposedly considering Michigan? If FL, CA, AZ and WA kids are willing to consider going to Michigan, why not OSU? Noah Spence wasn't on our list and we weren't on his and yet Urban decided he wanted him and then went out and got him. In less than a week. He has a month to complete this class. Our staff hits the recruiting trail tomorrow!

I also see two LBs and 2 Athletes (at least one to play CB). That leaves #8 for a 5-star player he wants at a position that's not necessarily a priority need like QB Jameis Winston or DE Dante Fowler or a 4th OL or 3rd LB or another DT to complement Schutt, another 5-star like Eddie Goldman or Ellis McCarthy.

I hadn't heard that about Armstead. There's probably a lot we're not hearing...and where before that silence was deafening, the unsettling lull before the storm hits, now it's kind of refreshing. It means, to me, Meyer is quietly at work, talking to recruits, talking to his staff, getting ready to lower the boom. Even though LOI Day is a month away, I feel a lot better now than I did a little over a month ago.

So just when links are posted that he's firmly committed to scUM and a universal sign of relief is breathed so we can get back to recruiting kids who want to be Buckeyes, in weighs a newbie picking up and waving Kalis's flag.
