  • He would be an awesome addition to the recruiting class. Other than Robert Foster, he's the highest rated WR we've offered and is projected as the 4th to 10th best WR in the nation among the major recruiting services. Thanks for posting PA.

    no problem, Zeus...yeah, who knows what's going on with Foster. I live in western PA & went down to watch Foster play a few games & I gotta admit - that guy is electric. He reminds me of Teddy Ginn + a few inches & lbs., but we'll see what happens. I'm not banking on him at all. I do like the OL from south of Pgh., though - Dorian Johnson --- I'd full court press him if I were Urban & co..
    You're right though, Treadwell is the other highest-rated WR OSU has offered...it would be very nice to get him; & either/or Gibson & Quick.
    Who wouldn't want to play in this offense? ... especially as a receiver

    I think its true that Michigan currently leads for Treadwell, though he definitely likes OSU, as well. Supposedly, he's not committing until the AAA game. If true, that's good for us since he'll get to see the team in action this fall. There are some murmurs he could commit to Michigan earlier, however.

    Foster is a complete stud, though he's not that polished of a route runner - more of a shake and baker and deep ball threat. We have Marshall and Elliott as shake and bakers and D Smith as a long ball threat but are lacking a prototypical WR who is a real crisp route runner with great hands who is strong after the catch like Treadwell. For that reason I actually think Treadwell is a bigger need than Foster but I'd sure love them both since they bring different things to the table.

    I don't think we are in the driver's seat, but I think he likes us and USC. I think OSU is third right now, but there is a long way to go.

    it has been my experience that scUM fans think they are frontrunners for every recruit in the country & when a kid picks a different school it is always the same garbage that there are major issues with the kid which made the coaches look elsewhere ect ect blah blah blah

    True BMW. I should have noted I was thinking in terms of composite WR rankings I've seen, where Quick is ranked #3, 6, 8, and 26 (avg. 10.75) and Treadwell is ranked #5, 5, 7, and 10 (avg. 6.75, and I was wrong about him getting a #4 ranking). I'd be really happy with either one of them!

    It's all good Zeus! Question, is Treadwell more of a possession reciever (Posey) or game breaker (Ginn)? I see Quick as being the latter.

  • I think its 50/50 between us and you guys. Nobody else has a chance imo. If he commits before football season, id say hes ours. Anytime after that, hes all buckeye. I just dont have a lot of faith in hoke n co closing recruits late, after dormant final couple months prior to nsd. Somewhat opposite for urbs, not to mention the added time he has this year.
