Greg Powers, head scout of the Midlands Recruiting, from the TOS has said that Mike Mitchell out of Plano, Texas is strongly considering us. This is the first time I have seen this kids name mentioned anywhere linked to the Buckeyes. He is listed as a 4 star by 247, scout and rivals. Looks to have some good size, 6'4 220 lbs, and a 40 time of 4.55 seconds.
So whats the info on this kid?

I have seen this guy play. Good player not great. I think with good coaching he could be great. We need to keep an eye on this kid.

Heard he's an athletic specimen that would make nice DE, but better suited for 3-4 D as a rush backer. Doesn't have the hips to drop back in coverage. What did you think of his teammate TE Morgan? Also heard Mitchell is from FL and hasn't been in Texas too long. Was a Gator fan.

Reports coming out from "The Opening" are saying tOSU is sitting very well with Mr. Mitchell.

Yeah, would also like to see if we can get an update on this kid. Espn has him in their top 150. Saw the headline over at rivals and said may commit while in Oregon this weekend. Bill- need some help!

At the beginning of the finals of the SPARQ, they said TOSU, A&M , (can't remember the other are his top3. So far out of the final 10 he is in first after 2 events. 40+ inch vertical & 4.00 sec 3 cone.
Powerball toss went 45 ft+. (finished second or 3rd)

Unreal, 2 nd 40 time of 4.39 seconds. Sealing the deal as the SPARQ National Champion.
His final SPARQ was 154.47(highest recorded)

Kid is not skinny either. He is in the weight room too. Urban likes speed. LBer running a 4.39 is unreal. WOW. go get him Urban.

Getting Mitchell out of Texas would be the steal of the recruiting year. Not only does the kid have great measurable skills, but he also has a high motor. Pairing him with Fickel and Vrabel would create "Big Kat" like moments.
