OSU vs TTUN

  • Kudos to Michigan for getting the OL recruits, those are some solid OL recruits.

However, who are they going to block for? Michigan is not getting the quality of skill players that Ohio State is getting. Look at the 2012 running backs compared to theirs. Brionte Dunn and Warren Ball both would start at Michigan on day 1. And in the 2013 class, we will get better skill position players again. Jalin Marshal and Cam Burrows are better than any skill player Michigan has signed up. We have great skill players in Ohio, and most of them will choose OSU over scUM (if offers from both), its just a fact. As for 2013 QB's, all the QB's that OSU has offered, are WAY better than the in-state kid scUM has signed up for 2013.

So, I'm not worried at all about scUM recent OL haul. Lets compare classes on February 2, 2013. Our class will be better.

Doesnt Michigan have the number 1 QB recruit ? Michigan has 13 commits . 11 inside rivals top 96 last year Michigan and OSU had 9 total kids inside the 150 OSU 5 Michigan 4

  • they have one of the top pro style qbs and many feel they will land isaac, so they should be fine there. like many have said we are going to have to get used to them getting good recruiting classes. the days of rich rod are over. that said, we should still expect to have better classes in the end

Michigan has a RB who was a 1000 yard rusher last year and will only be a junior. So Dunn and Ball would not be starting for Michigan day 1. And Isaac and Treadwell look like they'll be headed to Michigan.

    Umm....

Michigan has a very highly regarded QB prospect in this year's class. He is considered better than the OSU offerees based on third-party evaluations by the recruiting services. Even if you can't admit that, he is still a top level talent.

Michigan got a RB/FB this year that OSU offered. He will be behind the lines.

Michigan is in on a number of other top "skill" players that they apparently lead for (Isaac, Treadwell, etc.)

Michigan coaches apparently follow the ideaology that you build a team from the line of scrimmage outward. This is also the strategy followed by SEC powerhouse teams (see link).

Michigan fans got enough of the acute focus on skill players in a spread offense when RIchRod was in town.

  • Urban Meyer knows this truth too...that is why he focused so much on the DL and OL last year.

  • It's way too early in the recruiting cycle for anybody to be worrying or puffing their chest out about their recruting class. Long way to go. Both classes are going to be great.

Fitz Tousiant started 6 games and was a 1000 yd rusher plus they have that Denard guy hes runs pretty well also..

  • Every running back on OSU's depth chart, even our 4th string backs, are better than scUMs startIng RB.

We almost beat scUM this year and this was the worst OSU team in 10 years.

Just wait until Braxton gets a few years experience under his belt, handing the ball to brionte. Yep, scUM is screwed

That's funny, I don't remember your 4th string running back rushing for 1,000 yards....

Using "scUM" over and over.. predicting a better class based on nothing? Ok, whatever makes you feel better bro. By the way, Michigan fans don't take offense to others (includes MSU and ND fans) going out of their way to use scum. It's more so fodder for laughter than insulting (think about it). I know there's a rivalry and some trash talk is natural but threads like this really make the OSU fanbase look pathetic.

And responses like this make Michigan look arrogant.

Come on, BLou, you've got to do better than that. If you can't make an intelligent and informed contribution to the discussion--i.e., great OLs have helped mediocre QBs and RBs win a lot of Heismans but no one's ever won a Heisman playing behind a mediocre OL--at least come in with guns blazing like most trolls who want to pick a fight do. If you were trying to insult us by calling us pathetic, you failed and that's because I expect that AT LEAST that much from a scUM fan (as you should expect it from us--the fundamental component of any rivalry should be to dish out as much bullshit as much as you are forced to take; otherwise, your rival won't respect you if you don't stand up for yourself). The fact that you felt compelled to state the obvious is indeed fodder for laughter but a long, long way from insulting. Your 5th post ever and it's on our board? Now THAT'S pathetic. I'm not laughing with you, bro--I'm laughing at you.

  • OSU shouldn't worry about what Michigan Community College is doing. As long as we take care of our business it doesn't matter what scUM does.

Right and it is waay too early in the recruiting process (early March) to really conclude anything more meaningful than that both schools are off to a nice start with the majority of those committed being four and five star recruits. Michigan, of course, leads the nation in early commits (mostly offensive line recruits)--something similar to what they did last year. Both schools are currently pursuing top prospects that can keep them near the top of the rankings. Those are the facts right now and just about everything else is speculation. Also Michigan has a commitment from a highly rated pro style QB but he is not top rated by 247 as one poster was trying to imply.

  • Michigan fans insulting our threads about recruiting is pretty funny. Dude, what are you doing in your life that you're active on Michigan blogs AND OSU blogs. Get a job, a hobby, a life, a woman, a dog, anything. But don't be surprised when you see OSU fans blogging pro Buckeye things and anti Michigan things on a website named 'BUCKNUTS.COM'.
