Got to go with the following:

    Heuerman
    Smith
    Bell
    Pocic
    Gibson
    and Green

Also need to find another play maker WR and OL such
as K. Rodgers (OG) & L. Peterson (OC). Can't sleep on the need
to add depth on the OL.

  • What was the name of that really fast white guy WR from i believe AZ? Is he still in play. I think his name was neal as well. Could be way off though.

  • even though it doesnt look like jaylon will land here i think he is still our #1. cravens would be a reach but never say never when meyer is around. if we could land half of recruitingfreak's list i think we should be in great shape

His name is Devon Allen and I think he is still in play for one of the WR spots.

We only have 3 more for sure schollies. So I doubt we'll have room in the end for another 7+ commits. I think max is probably 6 more commits with normal attrition. That said, I think probably Heuerman, Pocic, Gibson, maybe Quick, Rodgers, and either Bell or/and Smith.

    AllDay28

  • Yes it is Devon Allen. Ohio State has a good shot with him because his father grew up in Columbus and was a Buckeye baseball player.

  • we need more WR's ..............like Quick (both the player and figuratively)

  • Me personally, I'd be fine with accepting any of the following (for various reasons, such as depth)

    QB Aaron Bailey, Mitch Trubisky
    RB Ty Isaac, Derrick Green
WR Robert Foster, James Quick, Laquon Treadwell, Shelton Gibson, Devon Allen, Rob Wheelwright, Uriah LeMay
    TE Mike Heuerman
    OL Ethan Pocic
DL Tashawn Bower, Elijah Daniel, Henry Poggi, Jordan Sherit
    LB Jaylon Smith, Mike Mitchell
CB Vernon Hargreaves, Mackensie Alexander, Caleb Day
S Su'a Cravens, Vonn Bell, Dymonte Thomas

I realize we have a great chance with getting some of them, and almost none with some of the others, but I guess my "dream class" would involve signing at least Foster, Quick, Pocic, Alexander, Smith, and Bell.

If you want a seat on this bus you better be quick, no matter how good you are with the limited scholarships.

Those that should commit in the near future.
    Heuerman
    Gibson
Kimbrough "seems" to be waiting for that OSU offer....will it come? If yes I think he commits.

We still need at least on more OL.
Pocic at this point (unless there is someone better out there...lol).

    "Can't turn down category"
    Smith
    Cravens
    Bell.
One out of three here would be great, two out of three would be awesome, three out of three - mind blowing!

If we can finish with this WOW. Defense would be crazy. Offense would be improved (considering the whole class).

Is it really possible to excited about 2013 season's before we even play 2012?!?

  • Yes but I am really excited for this season. I think last years class was really good and we will see some of them on the playing field this year. Not only that with a new offense and I really beleive this defense will be back int he top 5 for the next decade if we keep recruiting like this. I am so excited just to see the kids we got from last year play I think we have exceptional speed from the guys Meyer brought in.

  • I think that Kimbrough ship has sailed. Never got a offer and you know we will wait on Smith. I also think we take 19 to 20 when it's all said and done. Thats 6 or 7 more. Can't just count the grads and think that's your number. Every year we lose a few to injury, transfer or leave early for NFL. Just my opinion.

  • I'd love to see a late push for Dorian Johnson from PA. He's the 12th ranked player on 247, and he was at Penn State's spring game but didn't commit. If we can push for he and Pocic, I'd be happy to get one of them. He lives in a town right on I-70, south of Pittsburgh, only 180 miles from Columbus.

Good thoughts here. If they could seal Pocic and D. Johnson that would be sweeeeet!

  • looks like we wil have between 6 to 7 spots....

    heuerman
    gibson
    pocic
    v.bell
    j.smith
    either treadwell or quick
    d.johnson

that would finish out the class nicely with a few good oline and wr prospects and a couple top notch players on d

  • I think we will land atleast 20 commits in this class, maybe 22 who knows as of right now.

    14. Mike Heuerman OSU are the favorites
    15. Ethan Pocic ^^^^
    16. Dorian Johnson (will visit Ohio State next, I'm just a cocky buckeye fan who think everyone will pick us over Penn St)
    17. Jordan Sherit Same with the first 2, but numbers can be a problem. Well see.
18.Jaylon Smith (After his senior season, if Rod Smith has a break out season)
    19. Vonn Bell - Loved his OSU visit, and Urban Meyer. I think Meyer is enough to pull this stud.
    20. James Quick - Blown away by his visit, proxmity towards home, and can also be the #1 reciever in this class.

    If we go to 22:

    21. Shelton Gibson/ Corey Smith - Loves OSU.
    22. Last minute signing day steal/ Flip -------- Dymonte Thomas. He will realize Michigan sucks at the last minute and switch over to the Ohio State Buckeys

  • With the limited schoolies I would go with (IMHO)
    Jaylon Smith
    Ethan Pocic
    James Quick
    Vernon Hargresves
    Su'a Cravens or Vonn Bell
And I'm sure that we will take a look at another OL

  • This class finishes with 20-22....with that said

    Heuerman
    Pocic
    Rodgers
    J. Smith
    V. Bell
    Gibson
    Quick
    (Trubisky)
    (Hurst)

I have Hurst and Trubisky as luxury picks. If the staff wants one or both, they get them. I can also see one more CB if it is a stud CB.
No more Kimbrough IMO guys. Tough to have a guy on the list who doesn't even have an offer. I would say his odds of getting an offer went from 50/50 to about 20/80. This class needs two QB's. Jones obvioulsy is going to be red-shirted. Depth breeds competition.

I love the haul of Pocic, Lisle and Rodgers. You have your true T in Pocic, a versatile G/T in Lisle and a road grading G in Rodgers.

Bell and Smith would make this defensive class tops in the nation (especially paired with last years class).
I don't think they take a 2nd RB. Once Ball gets here I think the 5 they have they will be very pleased with. Next year they take 2.

I am loving this class though!

Agree! I'm not sure which guy would be more dominant. Thus, when in doubt, take both!

  • I think we will get Heuerman, Gibson, Vonn Bell, Pocic, & James Quick. Hopefully we could add Jaylon Smith & Dorian Johnson but I think they are less likely.

    GO BUCKS!!

You guys need Therapy about this OL. We just got 5 in 2012, and moved Fragel and Baldwin over.
And if we need to, we can move Farris and Hale over. We picked up Lisle, and are probably 80% good on Posic. 16 OL plus the ability to move 2 or 3 over from the DL is nothing to lose sleep over.

Now Safety Depth is a different story. Having 5'9" Adam Griffin as your back CB, or having 6 Safeties graduating this year and next is frightening to me. Why don't you steer some of that insomnia towards the Secondary? And root in Vonn Bell and Dymonte Thomas, or really cheer for Sua Cravens or McKenzie Alexander, although those two are outside chances. Another haul of 5 DBs this year would make me happy. Any less is irresponsible. And we will probably still look for another 5 next year with Roby leaving.

Thank you! You finally said what needed to be said. We have pulled in a great quantity of offensive lineman in these past two classes to go along with the decent O-lineman we already had. Fragel and Baldwin did move over and have been great so far. The offensive line is going to be just fine. This is nothing to fret about. Lisle is great and so is Pocic. I'm looking forward to picking up Pocic. I'm going out on a limb here and saying that if we get Pocic to commit, we will have one of the best offensive lines in the country. Love it or hate it, go look at the depth chart.

  • Word here in Fort Wayne, from a source close to the family, is that Jaylon Smith is favoring Notre Dame. I gotta believe that how this coming season plays out for OSU, Notre Dame and brother Rod Smith, could have an impact.
