Remaining Top Prospects To Commit To OSU

  • Buck4ever said...

Word here in Fort Wayne, from a source close to the family, is that Jaylon Smith is favoring Notre Dame. I gotta believe that how this coming season plays out for OSU, Notre Dame and brother Rod Smith, could have an impact.

Thanks but the word in C-Bus and the rest of the country is that NLOID isn't until February.

His leans in April the year prior really don't mean squat. Holler at me in December, then maybe you are on to something.
Just think about Taylor Decker and Tommy Schutt. They had leans too. Hell they even committed to other programs, right? shrug

Leans are like booty holes and you know what they say about booty holes, right?

At any rate, ND is a third tier program. If J. Smith wants to go to a third rate squad with good academics, then tell him to have at it. Knock himself out. The Buckeyes are the obvious, best answer for J. Smith.

Why not up your level of competition, play for a winner and still go to a school with good academics? Hell you might even get drafted into the NFL and win a few championships along the way. huh

The Buckeyes can gurantee this one and ND isn't even in the discussion. Sounds pretty straight forward to me.

Huerman and Smith better choose wisely cause the train is leaving the station! clap

One thing for sure, if they do go to Norte shame, Coach Meyer and staff will plug and play. Move on as simple as that.
The time for screwing around is drawing to a close, so they ultimately have to decide what's in their best/ family interest!

  • I'm disappointed to report that Mike Heuerman has committed to Notre Dame.

  • Sorry ladies and gents but no way does Cravens leave the West. He's pretty much all USC and if not SC, Oregon....guaranteed!!! As for Quick he just received the offer he was waiting for and my man will be pimping green and yellow in the future. But no worries, I really think you guys will end up getting Robert Foster and I have a gut feeling J Smith ends up a Buckeye.

  • Although, Rod Smith did get significant playing time in the spring game. I can only wonder if this is a ploy to help lure Jaylon to Cbus. Every report ive read about Rod up to the date is he had fallen off. Jaylon gets national attention, spring practice starts and suddenly Urban is talking about Rod every other interview...

rod is getting outplayed by dunn and he is looking like #4 on the depth chart and i have yet to see this talent i keep hearing about. then you throw ball into the mix and next season marshall and elliot into the mix and it looks like he wont play much. i am going to predict that he sticks it out this year then if it doesnt work out he transfers. hope he can pull it together but imo jaylon would be insanely nice to get but prob ends up at nd to make his own mark like he did in high school

    Ploy? Really?

I thought this would properly be referred to as a "tactic"?

If it is successful then are you still going to complain? shrug

Coach Meyer needs to do what he has to do to get J. Smith to commit. Don't get
side tracked by the "sausage making" of recruiting! The goal is to get the kids you want
    by ANY MEANS NECESSARY!!

Get him to sign and sort the rest out later!!!

  • My wish list in order of position importance:

    (S) Vonn Bell
(OT) Ethan Pocic and Dorian Johnson
    (OG) Khaliek Rodgers
    (C) Lovell Peterson
(WR) James Quick and Laquon Treadwell
(CB) McKensie Alexander or Jalen Ramsey
(LB) Jaylon Smith or Tim Kimbrough
(DT) Mike Hill or Donavon Munger
    (QB) Mitch Trubisky
    (RB) Derrick Green

Lots of other players who I feel would do well at OSU but for one reason or another IMO won't commit to the Buckeyes... (WR) Gibson, Foster, Parker, Allen .... (OT) Tunsil....(DT) Nkemdiche, Poggi, Walker....
(DE) Allen, Bower, Daniel, Sherit....(S) Cravens, McQuay, Day, Harris... (CB) Hargreaves, Fuller.....
(RB) Isaac, Ryan Green, Williams....(QB) Bailey
