Apologies....

  • To Barkley.....everyone ripped on him in the two weeks we have seen him analyze the NCAA tourney. He still might not know more than one player's name on each time, but he is correct on most of the things he says.

    He said the big east was way overrated, overvalued and would not do much........he was correct
    He said to watch out for Arizona in the west............he was correct
    He said OSU was a nice team, but would lose to KU.........he was correct.

    The homers called him a hater.....in fact he was only speaking the truth.

    Everyone was hard on Charles Barkley, I agree 100%. I actually have alot in common with Chuck, neither one of us has any championship rings.

  • Charles Barkley picked Kentucky because he is friends with Calipari. And he is also friends with Bill Self. Don't take his words as thunder when it comes to college basketball. He was very bias in this tournament. He was the only one who chose Kentucky while everyone else was being realistc in Picking the #1 overall seed against a young Kentucky school Kentucky got lucky. Buford shouldn't have been the one to take that last shot.

  • We really did not have much of a choice, Bufford was the only option to pass. I thought Craft should have took it to the center of the court.

  • saw the replay of those last seconds. deibler craft and buford really ran down the floor others were back behind craft. buford was more ahead than deibler. a timeout should have been called right after the basket, then another after they got to half court. no way buford should have taken that last shot.
    kentucky played and shot well. we played a fair game and shot poorly but still had a chance to tie or win. what happened to lauderdale did his foot fall asleep? five minutes of playing time when we were getting killed underneath?? hard to understand. hope the big guys coming in next year are big.

  • Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. Barkley is truly a buffoon, and some cynical douchebag "apologizing" for us "homers" doesn't change that fact.

BUT you slam the Buckeyes, agree with sources that attack the Buckeyes or speak out negatively against this program and belittle the coach and you're a fan? YOU'RE AN IDIOT!!!!

  • No, not at all.....Its the homers who call these people haters. I have no prolem with disenting views if they are crafted with intelligence. But calling out people as haters because they said OSU would not win is very idiotic.

    I also had my doubts about playing Kentucky and my worries were justified.

    The circle with a slash through it is great...

    Barkley has been right on some things, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. He said at the start of the tourney OSU would lose because they are used to playing a slow down game and can't run with the better teams like Kansas and KY. That is just plain ignorant, if he actually had ever seen a few OSU games he would know that OSU struggled the most against teams that slowed down the game (i.e. Wisky, NW). KY didn't beat OSU by running the floor, they beat OSU by playing great defense and taking good shots (by being patient on offense, not running).

    I thought we should have tried a larger lineup much more in the latter parts of the game instead of only the first few minutes where we did ok. Only having one big man hurt rebounding and defense. i kow Matta was probably afraid of getting one of our big men in foul trouble, but not coming back to that lineup for a while throughout the game was a mistake. Lack of a large front court was what I thought was our biggest achilles heel.

His predictions have NOT been spot on, he has got a couple more or less right, but the thing about picking games is that you always have a 50% chance of getting it right. He is bias in his opinions, (and no, I'm not talking only about the opinions concerning OSU) and ignorant in his analysis because he was lazy about his research or knowledge of each team. Sure, he probably knows the NBA better because it is what he covers normally; but a professional should do their homework even if it's a subject they don't necessarily specialize in. To give my opinion in a way that I believe would be most fitting to Sir Charles, the man is an idiot with a microphone who blurts out whatever is going through his head at the second.

  • Might be a jerk, might not be able to speak, but his predictions have been pretty good and against the majority of opinion.

    And Kentucky WAS faster than us yesterday. That is usually the case when the opponent is more athletic than you.

    Still, it was a great game and could have gone either way. We came up short. Overall, a great year but a poor ending to what we all thought could have been a memorable finish.

  • Yeah, I know its Uk and not KU....I keep screwing that up when i type.

    And read better. Have been very positive about the basketball team all year. My only negative was that a team that had a quality big guys and long wing players would give us trouble in the tourney.

    Once again and this time unfortunetly, I was proven to be accurate in my assessment.

    It's the fact he couldn't bring himself to give any accolades or point out any positives with the team...that's the problem I had with him.

    The worst thing about the entire cluster f*&*^ at the end of the game was that our kids did exactly what they should have done--get off a potential winning shot. However, due to the complete lack of coaching at that point they did what they did--got it to the worst possible choice. Come on, Matta, get in the game or go home, wherever that is.

  • Yeah Matta'a a terrible coach. You're an idiot. This stretch during his tenure will go down as one of the greatest periods in OSU bball history. He has raised the level of expectation to final 4 / natl championship or bust. Do some research and look at lots of years of mediocrity. I would have loved to seen them advance more than anyone. But one of three possible scenarios got them beat, frigid shooting (injury/foul trouble the others). It happens. If Buford has a bad shooting day they win by 6 or 8. It took an unbelievably bad day and we lose on a last second shot. Yeah Matta doesn't know what he's doing, three losses, terrible.
