Could we have beaten Kentucky?

  • After watching last night's game, I don't think our chances would have been very good. Too long and athletic down low and their ball handlers and outside shooting were solid. Kentucky was young, but played with confidence and poise. I was impressed with their performance on the big stage. This was a team that was supposed to win, and went out and took it.

I absolutely hate seeing the SEC win in basketball too. This really sucks.

  • Absolutely we could beat them.

Also, I woke up this morning and felt weird. I measured myself and I'm 8'0" tall now.

  • Anybody can beat anybody any night but as much as i hate to admit it i don't think we would have beat them. Would have been fun to try though! Go Buckeyes can't wait for football season and next years Basketball.

Agreed. It would have been a tough match up for us. We had trouble scoring in the paint against Kansas, just imagine how much tougher it would have been against kentucky and Davis.

For the most part in the Matta era other than the Oden-Conley team, long, athletic teams have always given us problems. Matta likes 1 big and then 4 perimeter players. IMHO he either needs to go to a more traditional lineup with 2 bigs and 3 perimeter players or 1 of his 4 perimeter guys needs to be longer and more athletic than Thomas, Buford, Lighty, etc.

  • I know that Kentucky is in the SEC but for some reason I never really consider them part of the SEC...they don't seem to fit in with the rest of SEC schools.

  • Unfortunately, Corruptapari guys would have beaten OSU in the finals. Kentucky had too much length and athleticism versus Sullinger. There are only two matchups I like from OSU and that is Aaron Craft and Deshaun Thomas versus KU. It will be a few years until Corruptapari will have his championship vacated. If the Chicago Sun Times would have had the effrontery to run the proven article about Davis then Kentucky would have been on probation. No balls and no glory. It is funny how no one mentioned all the Final Fours Corruptapariu won were vacated by the NCAA. I bet every single game OSU plays in football, you will have some ESPIN d.....bag talk about OSU's football problems and the vacated Sugar Bowl after every single broadcast.

  • I think we would of had no chance against UK. They were just loaded with talent and outside of a few games, they clicked on all cylinders non-stop. My friend, who is a Michigan fan, were talking the other day and he even said that he would have loved to of seen a game where all of Ohio State's main players were on. He said he thinks we could have beaten anyone and he's right. And I think this has been a serious problem this year. How in the hell can you not get pumped up and psyched for the NCAA tournament? I thought we were lucky to get as far as we did.

  • You don't have as much to lose if the other team is supposed to win. It would have been better to lose the championship game than the semifinal game. We could have seen just how good we could have been this year.

  • In one game anything can happen but we had trouble with tall lanky guys underneath with Sully having to play center.... I was talking about when we went through that tough stretch losing 3-5 but if we would of had Amir more battle tested we would of givin them hell.... oh well next year we will match up with anyone Any style and have more experiance in the tourney its going to be all up to the players whom stay and work there butts off. We brought Jent in to help with our shooting. We were showing improvement untilvthe 2nd half of the Kansas game ....
