ESPN ~ Mello Excuses!

  • Every time they mentioned Ohio State winning it was because Thad Mello didn't play.
He was a good player, but there are tons of people who are ineligible to play College Basketball.
He is one of them,so is Michael Jordan and Larry Bird.
The game is played with eligible players both teams had those and Ohio State won!
    Live with it.

Beoheim was all about himself in every post game interview.

I was thinking the same thing watching ESPN. I think it was a legitimate point to make, but it wasn't worthy of the extensive discussion they gave it, pretty much all but stating that had Melo played, Syracuse would have won. BS in my opinion, the guys they had in there would good players and there is no guarantee as to what Melo might have done. The other analyses focussed on coach's decision to sit scoop Jardine at the end of the game and that more fouls were called on Syracuse vs. TOSU.

Of course, none of these give credit TOSU's play or coaching.

I didn't care for the officiating either, these tightly called games have a bad effect on both teams. We could make a good argument that had the refs allowed for more physiscal play, it probably would have been more to our advantage. Yes, they had a few guys foul out in the end, but losing Craft could have killed us. Our best player had to sit 14 minutes of the the first half due to touch calls. Also, our guys worked the ball inside from the high post and took it to the basket. I think a good strategy in a tightly called game that resulted in getting to the foul line.

  • Did you also notice how ESPiN showed the highlights from a Syra-suck perspective?
The alley-oop when Jared was on the bench, another slam by them, BUT NO Sam Thompson slam, NO Aaron Craft running out of bounds to save the ball and jumping over all creation to do it.
Watching their "highlights of the game" without sound, you would have thought Suck-racuse had won the game. Pathetic.

fair points.....but we have homers on our end who maintain we would have beaten Florida if Ted Ginn Jr., never gets hurt.

At the end, it don't matter. We won.

ESPN is only allowed to show a specific amount of highlights. They can't show extensive highlights, so you don't see everything.

BS. I will not defend E$PN for anything they do. East coast bias, they cater to the NY-ers.

  • Who cares what you think tornado. I agree with what your saying. I pulled my wife over to see the highlights and she said the same thing " looks like the other team was better!"
