According to reports, Kansas, UCLA, and Duke stand out over any of the other schools he is considering.
I know we had a chance at him.
I don't follow high school hoops or recruting, so this question is for the guys on here who do. How good is he? Can he make an impact next year? And this a big loss if he does not come to OSU with Sully probably on his way to the NBA.

Yeah, I'm not sure why any of those schools would be considered over Ohio State.
I realize I am biased as an OSU fan, but let's really think about this. Duke has underachieved the last two seasons, and frankly has not had a big-time post player for several years. It's still Duke, but Parker would have to share the spotlight.
UCLA has been an overall joke the last five years or so. It's a mess there, and Howland is on his way out.
Kansas always favors their bigs, but there are several other recruits already in the class that Parker would have to compete with.
Ohio State, as Matta has shown over his tenure, is able to work with the stars they have, and allow them to showcase themselves. Oden, Conley, Koufos (to a lesser extent), Turner, Sullinger... Matta gives the ball to his stars and lets them become a household name. Parker would come in, replace Sullinger, and immediately become the focal point of the OSU offense. I understand the allure of the "blue blood" programs, but OSU has become an elite program as well, and has produced as good of prospects as any other college team the last 5-6 years.

I'm sure he is exactly the kind of "player" OSU needs, but ever since he had the in-home documentary of his family discussion about the strengths/weaknesses of each program, and prolonged his recruiting attention to spring signing period, I've wondered if he was acting like an entitled, too-self-important athlete who is looking for the best deal from his recruiters.
Despite the named school options listed, it would not surprise me if he had a last minute "revelation" and signed with Kentucky.
I don't know the guy and could be completely wrong...but to me there is a little odor on this one. Give me the 1a candidates who really want to be Buckeyes and can't wait to get on campus to contribute to team success.

I am watching this kid play in an all star game and don't see what the big deal is?? He appears to be lazy in this game. First thing I saw was him turning the ball over spinning into a double team. From then on he is getting his shots blocked and out hustled for rebounds! Am I missing something here?
