What happens if????

  • Sully and Thomas leave early (given in my eyes) possible transfers Siebert, Witherspoon and Ross? what if they all leave? I think we are hurting then, won't just be reloading. I think Siebert is gone, Witherspoon on the fence and Ross combination of playing time and I think he misses home, might happen.

  • Siebert tweeted he is not leaving, Ross will be a star here and Thad will convince him of that and Spoon, not that big of a loss IMO if he does leave. That said, major growth needed this off-season or it could be a long season next year. Fingers crossed on DT coming back.

    Maybe they will get some players(even juco transfers) that can actually SHOOT the basketball.
    This has to be the worst collection of awful shooters this program has ever had.

    At this point Buford is only one who is gone.

    Sullinger will likely leave. However, I think he would benefit from another year to improve 4 skills. Just can't see him being an NBA Center going up against 7 footers after seeing his performance v. Withey. He would have a better career as a 4 and situational 5.

    Thomas should stay. He has made strides from undrafted to probably 2nd round. With similar improvement could be a legit 1st round draft pick.

    Assuming defection of Sullinger, Thomas, and Weatherspoon you could see a starting lineup of Craft, Smith, Thompson, and Williams, with Ravenel, Siebert, etc... providing depth.

    Why would all those guys transfer if Thomas leaves early for the NBA? There will be plenty of PT to go around. Scott can't play F, Sibert can only play SF and really is a 2, Thompson is really a 3, if we don't land a center in this class Ravenel is going to have to play C at least some of the time, so at least one of those guys is pretty much guaranteed to start and two could start if they make some improvements.

    BTW, did anyone notice Kentucky crush everyone in the tournament with a six man rotation? I guess it isn't that crazy after all.

    Ravenel is no starter!! If he starts it will be a long season. Why would he play the 5 over Williams? Thats dumb.
    Ross has to play there isn't another shooter on the roster.
    Smith Jr has to get consistant stop shooting a fade away shot.
    Craft has to fix his jumper to ever play in the NBA
    Thompson another Great athlete good looking shot just dont go in?
    Scott needs a jumper great athlete.
    We need a 7 footer just to come off the bench.
    This team could make a good run if they improve in the off season.
    Great athletes can make great Basketball players average athletes can't

  • Thomas will not get drafted in the first 50 picks if he left. I dont know why you idiots keep thinking he is leaving. He is not in the first or second round of nbadraft.net's mock not even on cbssports watchlist of underclassmen which has 40 people on it. You can say he needs money but he cant get money in the NBA right now. Ross will definitly be in the rotation next year of Craft Scott Smith Thompson Ross Thomas Ravenel Williams. Sibert is the one it makes sense to transfer, but has said he is not. I do not see spoon contributing much next year anyways. The sky is always falling on this website.

  • Thank goodness Thomas came back. I still think Ross is on the fence. We would be down to 8 scholarship players.

  • Della Valle Commits to OSU giving us 10 Scholarship players right now with time to add a couple more. I wouldn't even mind not using one or two to give us a more even balance, because only Ravenal graduates next year. (grant it if Thomas continues to improve and puts up big numbers good chance he will leave after next season).

    Not gonna lie dont know much about this Della Valle kid other than that he is a 6'3" - 6'4" shooter which we could definitly use. Pretty much fills Siebert's place with 2 more years of eligibility IMO.

    Nice to add a shooter in Della Valle. I wouldn't mind getting one or both transfers, Rodney Hood from Miss State or Gill from So Carolina. Both are 6'8", with Hood being an outside shooter. One year off the court after transferring is just like a '13 recruit, but more ready to play although with a year's less eligibility for Hood, not sure how many for Gill. Matta has 6'8" slasher Marc Loving from Toledo committed for the '13 class right. I would say we need PF, C, PG to fill if we can for '13.
