only 6 assist against MSU....

  • the key to OSU's play has to be moving the ball around, not sure what kind of assist they had against purdue and Michigan,,,,,,they had a impressive rebounding average against the Sparty....BUT THEY GOT TO PASS the ball around better.

You are right. OSU MUST PASS THE BALL. They looked stagnant offensively versus MSU in their last game . In the most recent Purdue game, OSU had 14 assists and in the most recent Michigan game OSU had 16 assists. In OSU's win versus MSU, OSU had 17 assists! There is a strong correlation between OSU passing the ball and winning ball games. OSU is better when they reverse the ball and pass the ball for higher percentage shots.

i know at halftime of the game the one of the announcers said that the bucks only had 1 assist....if the Bucks pass the ball and get over 12-15 assist a game......they are going to be hard to beat.....

  • Against Sparty, OSU had very few easy baskets, which are how I think you get assists. If your offense is a handoff and several dribbles and a shot, or throw the ball into the post and wait for Sully to read the double team and shoot, you won't have that many assists if the other team thinks they can defend you one on one.

  • Besides the low assists(6) the Spartans only comitted 6 turn-overs..the combination was a killer.
Thomas and Burford cannot continually go 4 for 12 either as they did last Sunday.....put that with bad calls and we went down. Very bright spot-we outrebounded them 43 to 30..now that's a first!

  • too much standing and dribbling. sullinger was hot at the beginning of the second half then started forcing some bad shots.
what disappointed and surprised me was the number of times michigan state beat us down the floor when we were on defense. buford got beat several times as did smith i believe.
having sullinger out for as long as he was in the first half and having craft out with about six minutes to go and still being right there with a chance to win the game was encouraging.
both craft and sullinger have been letting themselves get called for really cheap fouls quite a bit lately. craft is reaching and not moving his feet and sullinger is also very slow to react quite a bit. hope these guys are more careful when the tournament starts.
