Just think where it would be if we had a Texan in office? (SARCASM) That was the excuse when Bush was POTUS, he was inflating the price for his own good! Now all he has to do is send Obama a thank you card. Oh wait, nevermind, its still his fault.
It was around $1.89 when our current POTUS was elected, with his inability to address the Iran threats and not approve the pipeline from Canada the price of gas is heading right where his Energy Secretary wants it, $5/gallon! That way it justifies him sending more money to his bankrupt friends for green energy that we will NEVER see!
The real issue IMHO is the fact that our country has not built a refinery since the 70's,there is plenty of oil, just no refinery capacity!

Boys, there is no gas shortage. We are paying the price of living in a free market economy. Speculators have the power to drive up oil prices because there MIGHT be a problem in Iran soon. Amazing.O btw, correct me if I am wrong, but the Keystone pipeline was to be built to pump oil from Canada through the US overseas. We weren't to see a drop of it.OK I was wrong on the last part, I checked, but the whole project is politics as usual. Read up on it to see how thw republicans tried to force O's hand on this prematurely by linking his approval to their approving the unemplyment benefits package in January.

thats what is so amazing about the whole thing, you have a Energy SECRETAY--MR. CHU who has constantly made statements, that he WANTS high GAS PRICES but u have OBAMA coming out and saying "of course I don't want high prices, when I'm trying to get re=elected" so does the OBAMA adminstration want high or low prices which is it.........comments from the Democrat peanut gallery would be appreciative on this subject......

You do understand that saying high gas prices would be good for forcing Americans to change their habits is different than saying you want high gas prices, right? I find it interesting that a political conservative wants the President to do something about gas prices and not just let the free market handle it. I suppose the previous government intervention could be used to explain why you want further intervention but that isn't very Republican of you. Tsk, tsk.

Are you on meth? Ive never seen so many short phrases trying to be passed off as a complete sentence. I need to ask a 4th grader to translate what you write. Is everyone in Minster as uneducated as you? Or are you the creepy old sicko that stares at the underage girls from the park bench talking to yourself about Obama all day?

Just one more reason to get off of fossil fuels. I'm tired of paying anything over $2.50/gal so that oil companies can fill their pockets and Achmed can shot at me when I deploy to the Middle East. I say take oil company subsidy money and put it to work in R&D for new fuel methods. What has an oil company ever done for you besides help cause the recession with $4.00/gal gas in 2008! Remember that nice $600 refund advance you got that year? Where did that go again? Oh yeah, to help pay for the gas price increase and now they are doing it again during another presidential election year.
