$4.00 gas in dayton this morning......

Why would you say any American is a "False Patriot"? Even those with who I disagree the most I would never call a "False Patriot".

He's repeatedly trashed my service and I am calling him out for being a false patriot. If you insult someone's service because you don't agree you are a false patriot. Minsterbuckeye = false patriot.

Quit calling his duty into question. He served. If you disagree with him, then keep it at that. But don't call into question whether or not he is a veteran.

IF i could give you three up votes on this post I would. Big +1 for you, sir.

Hey Buckeyewarrior check out my avatar. Its from Operation Safe Passage in Panama in January 1995. Our unit deployed to transport Cuban refugees from Panama back to Guantanamo Bay. The origins of Guantanamo Bay prison was built to keep these refugees then it changed after 9/11. It's my favorite picture from the military.

Really--yours is an incredibly ignorant remark. All conservatives want is for the President to allow the free market to work--and not have him artificially depress supply by curtailing U.S. production on public lands. What is truly "interesting" is how leftists stubbornly hold onto their ideology regardless of demonstrable facts. Nice try, but your bozo President has been intervening in the economy, penalizing the use of capital, stifling job growth and fossil fuel production ever since he came into office. We will see if Americans are gullible enough this time around to buy into his false promise of government "goodies' for the middle class and the downtrodden.

It is actually you cons who are just making absurd comment after absurd comment. We currently have more wells pumping overall and are producing more oil than we have in years. The market doesn't set a price based upon whether the oil is from private or public lands. As i have posted elsewhere, "The U.S. exported more gasoline, diesel and other fuels than it imported in 2011 for the first time since 1949." Our production is the highest in 8 years and our consumption is down due to the recession, mild winter, etc.
    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-02-29/u-s-was-net-oil-product-exporter-in-2011.html

So perhaps your remark of "but your bozo President has been intervening in the economy, penalizing the use of capital, stifling job growth and fossil fuel production ever since he came into office" is the ignorant comment because if that is true how is production up, use down, and exports exceeding imports for the first time in over 60 years?

Gas prices have gone up as the price of a barrel of oil on the world market has gone up. Speculators on Wall St. have exacerbated what OPEC is doing. And then there is the horrendous profits by the oil companies. As I have posted elsewhere:

"Feb. 2009; cost oer barrel on the world market (CPB) $31.04; gas $1.91 a gallon.

    March 2009 CPB $40.13; Gas $1.94

    June 2009 CPB $61.7; Gas $2.67

    March 2010 CPB $72.90; Gas $2.80

    Dec. 2010 CPB $81.01; Gas $2.86

    Jan. 2011 CPB $84.47; Gas $3.05

    May 2011 CPB $92.92; Gas $3.96

    June 2011 CPB $87.92; Gas $3.65

Table stopped at Sept 2011 CPB $77.31 Gas $3.60 http://www.ioga.com/Special/crudeoil_Hist.htm

Inspection shows a direct relationship between the price of oil and the price of gas. Given that OPEC not Obama controls the price, how are the higher gas prices his fault?

Then there is also these figures to consider. Profits from the top 5 oil companies:

    2009 - 64.77 billion dollars
    2010 - 76.24 billion dollars
    2011 - 137 billion dollars"

So once again the facts do not support the Right's asinine criticisms of Obama.

Though often asked, God does not take sides in politics or college football.

Nor can he debate. He only changes subjects or attacks a poster when he is proven wrong. He represents the sludge at the bottom of the buck nuts barrel. Uneducated, idiotic sludge.

so what does this have to do with $4.00 gas? you disappear for a few weeks and just come on here to bash me........get a fricken life....even if you wore a uniform once, your still a FRICKEN JERK.......a uniform doesn't change that.......

  • $4.10 in central Illinois today, and an economic slowdown is on the horizon with less disposable income in people's pockets, and just wait until higher transportation costs make their way through the supply chain for anything that is transported. Thank you, Fed, for giving us a worthless dollar, which is as much to blame as anything for high gas prices - oil's benchmark pricing currency is the dollar, and a less valuable dollar is a prime contributor to higher oil and gasoline prices.

You know as much (really as little) about oil as you do about the law and the Constitution. The price is higher because world demand is higher (isn't that hard to understand?)--we have enough oil on public lands to make a huge dent in the price of oil, but your bozo President won't authorize additional drilling. You conveniently ignore the fact that production on public lands is down--but when did facts ever actually shape your view on anything? You've proven time and again to not be a worthy interlocutor--you simply ignore inconvenient truths and go on your merry way. Stay happy in dream land.

  • Let me guess scumbag, you werent saying this when Bush was in office were you? Nope, for sure not. Back then, it was, its not his fault he doesnt control this. Listen, the right wing, you being a carrying member want him out of office and they are working with the wall street speculators, who also want him out of office, to make sure that that prices continue to rise. This is your only hope that not only do prices rise, but that it stalls the economy and President Obama loses some votes because of it. Wont work, too late and you dont have a decent candidate to run against him.

You and people like you are nothing but the same guys who called Jackie Robinson names when he stood on first base, just a different time and era. I was telling some friends the other night, of course there is going to be a reaction against this president, he is the first! Just like Robinson and therefore you will have a level of gutteral and irrational hatred based upon fear of something new.

You are so naive and blinded by your own racist views that it wouldn't matter what facts and/or evidence anyone presented to you. The opposition to this president has nothing to do with him being black for the significant majority of people (Again, there are just as many people who will vote for him for the exact same reason and I'm sure you don't have a problem with that)... It has everything to do with his liberal policies which are not consistent with the views of many Americans and his abysmal record. I voted for Ken Blackwell for governor instead of Ted Strickland (I would also support someone like Condi Rice on just about any ticket which shatters two of your false conservative narratives)... I'm guessing you did not and he just wasn't "black enough" for you or perhaps even an "Uncle Tom" by the left's racist characterizations.

You feign intelligence by using terms such as "fear" and "hatred" as some sort of pseudo rationalization... You are partially correct in that we do fear Obama's policies because they are bad for our future and our children's. However, the hatred component seems to emanate more from you and your ilk ("scumbag").

If you'd bother to educate yourself, you'd see that what I posted above was accurate. If it isn't, provide evidence.

  • Drilling takes time. Unless the President used the reserve supply (a wildly irresponsible move), you would not see a change in gas prices for a few years. Even then, that doesn't solve any long term problem. It's a band aid. We still would need to import oil and there still is the issue that we don't control the supply.

People still erroneously believes the President can wave a magic wand and whatever action they want goes in to place. Congress would be the more appropriate body to act in the manner you are speaking of. The only area where the President has clear executive power is foreign policy. These poor policy decisions have more to do with the incentives in our government structure than one man.

Everyone is looking for simple solutions to complex problems. Since there is either no clear answer or not one that people are willing to accept, they'd rather complain.

Actually, due to the world wide recession, demand is not up on the world market. We already have a surplus and the gas at the pump doesn't care whether it comes from private or public land.

It is actually easy to understand that for someone who knows so much (really so little) that once again you are wrong. The only inconvenient truth on this issue is, as usual, you know nothing about anything.

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/02/10/us-iea-idUSTRE8190IL20120210
The IEA said oil demand in the most industrialized nations was expected to fall by 0.8 percent, with gasoline accounting for more than 40 percent of the decline.

The latest preliminary statistics for December point to a sharp fall in North American oil demand, down 4.1 percent year-on-year, despite reports of economic resilience.

The IEA linked this to sharp declines for heating oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) thanks to an unseasonably mild winter in the United States.

In line with the weak economic outlook, European oil demand is likely to post the greatest relative decline in 2012, the IEA said, down by 0.3 million bpd from 2011.

"Much of Europe already saw declines in economic activity in 4Q11, and with further drops assumed for the 1Q12, this equates to the technical definition of recession," it said.
