Gas up to $3.69.......and rising....

  • heard today that if the US would go to JUST ONE blend of gas, get away from the winter blend and the summer blend(sounds like starbucks) and other blends that gas would probably drop at least a $1.00 a gallon. anybody have info on this?

  • Here's obama's solution. Just properly inflate your tires and get a tune up. Problem solved.

  • Maybe Obama can use the emergency oil reserve to reduce the price again. Has he built it back up again?

Well, proper maintenance on your car actually does help mileage, therefore saving you money.

And using the emergency oil reserve to lower prices is an extremely temporary solution and that hinges on whether we have the refinery capacity to refine the extra oil, which we don't. The easiest way to bring prices down would be to nuke China and India since they are causing the massive increase in demand due to their continuing industrialization, but that would likely be a bad idea.

  • If we had started drilling in ANWR 3 years ago and OK'ed the Canadian pipeline we would be headed in the right direction but Obama wants us all to have windmills in our yard and solar panels on our roofs to help support his "friends".

Lots of people (especially in the plains states) used to have windmills on their farms to produce electricity before the national grid was built. Maybe Obama wants to build windmills and solar panels because they actually provide electricity without using so much oil along with helping his friends...

maybe we can just put holes in the floor board of the car....and do a Freddie Hoke way of moving the car along....

And we can use Nuclear Power plants since we lead the world in that Technology but don't use it....sigh.

Here's a thought too....they can remove close to $0.50 a gallon in taxes instead of going after "those evil oil companies". It's like looking a gift horse in the mouth. EPA can also reduce some of the insane restrictions on Diesel so we can have cars that get 50 miles to a gallon without spending a crap load on over inflated hybrids.

Yes and when they were just as high when Bushy was in office it was a Democrat problem as well. So much in depth thinking there.

Most of the old windmills on the plains were used to pump water for cattle troughs and irrigation. They would be unreliable for home power.

Isn't the federal gasoline tax like 18 cents a gallon?

I believe I was paying less then 3 dollars a gallon for gas during most of Bush's presidency, and during the first term it was under 2 dollars. Gas has jumped .83 cents per gallon under 3 years of Obummer. Get your facts straight ass clown.

What you don't take into account is that Bush tried to pass legislation to drill here back in 2000. Guess who blocked it from going through Congress? Democrats! Canada wants to start a pipeline with us, who refuses? Democrats. For the first time ever we are exporting more oil then importing, under Democratic control. Liberals are more concerned about lizards mating successfully then decreasing our reliance on foreign oil. Pathetic

That may be the dumbest shit I have ever heard. I was republican, until the party I supported was full of people like this ^ I hate lizards and I am only a dem because the Republican party has acted like a bunch of whining babies that point fingers to get elected. Every time a conservative stereotypes a person in order to further their' argument, the dems get stronger. Obama will win in a landslide. Keep pointing fingers. Calling the current president the anti-christ; another "brilliant" strategy. Here is a tip: don't sink your own argument by acting so closed-minded. Give me a real argument where you don't call the other guy a "tree hugger" or hippie.

I'm not closed-minded at all. I will admit anyday that George Bush was not a good President. I am not a hardcore Republican either. There are a lot of things that Republicans get involved in that I think shouldn't even be in politics. Republicans get involved in too many moral issues. All politicians want to control how people live their lives, no matter the party.

  • Obama inherited $1.80 / gal. gas.

    hammerhead

  • Since Gas prices are high it is obviously the presidents fault shrug

Cmon, you cannot blame everything that happens in this country on the president. Look in your history books and tell me if under the executive branch is the power of setting gas prices? Yes, he does have some influence, but he cannot go to the oil companies directly and say "Guys, I want gas at $1.00 a gallon. Do I make myself clear?" Gas is high, jobs suck, and the housing market blows, blame the president because it is all his fault and he must be doing a terrible job. it is all on him and no one else. (sarcasm)

I am not the biggest Obama fan, but I find it hard to place everything that goes wrong in this country on him. At some point, our country and all of the individuals living in it need to take some ownership. Our society loves to play the blame game and that is why we will probably never again have a president that is liked by everyone because the minute something goes wrong blame who? oh yeah the President. Don't forget, there are 535 other members at Washington that do a pretty good job of messing things up and there are also millions of Americans who vote these people into office, but oh wait it is still Obama's fault.
