Oh hell yeah. I'm of the opinion that most of our military assaults should be of the covert variety. This ordeal provides the blueprint for all future covert ops. Wasn't exactly smooth (as everyone who has followed the story knows) but the plan was on point. Can't plan for one of the choppers breaking down. Yet, they still completed the mission. Those guys are complete badasses.

I was deployed in the Middle East when he was killed. In the year I was there, morale was never higher than on that day. Honestly, I can't even compare it to anything I have ever experienced...the general elation was that immense. America chased after him for 10 years. Half of my career.

Smiles, handshakes, hugs, back slaps and high fives were the order of the day...everywhere you went. Chow hall, office, meetings, latrine...everywhere. I have never seen anything like it.

Yeah those guys are amazing no doubt. For all of the part and xbox guys playing modern warfare this is the real thing with no chances to hit reset.

True heroes in the grandest sense.

Giving Obama the credit is a slap in the face to all the Navy Seals, CIA, and other special forces that put in the time and effort to get this piece of shit.

Obama inherited (from you know who) the most robust intelligence and security apparatus in American history. They had a bead on bin Laden for 3+ months before they even TOLD Obama in fear that he'd call the whole thing off.

Panetta (by no means a hawk himself) is on record saying Obama knew nothing up to 2 weeks before the mission, and on the day of the mission Obama had to be dragged off the golf course in order to get the now famous deer-in-headlights photo-op from the command room.

Beyond those few facts above that are on the record, those who actually participated in the mission are bound by a code of silence, which allows Obama to get away with all this unseemly and pompous spiking of the football. Thankfully Obama makes for such a hilarious and unconvincing hero most Americans aren't buying it (i.e. there has been no Osama "bounce" for Obama).
