Ilegal Imigration / DeportationRevisited

  • I understand rules are rules but this is tough to swallow. I know there are thousands of more stories like this. Where do we draw the line between a country of that respects the law (that are very much needed) and sensible compassion for a young adult who didn't make the choice to break the law when coming into this country?

    There's probably more to the story.

  • Sad story but she just got a reprieve for who knows how long. The father has a green card and is a taxi driver and the family has been here for almost 20 years? We need immigrants to drive taxis? Seasonal agricultural work I can understand but not cab drivers. The family should have been sent home years ago.

  • Granted her mom broke the law trying to provide best for her family. This is the land of opportunity and we also have laws that must be obeyed.

    This girl didn't make her bed and she doesn't appear to have grandiose plans to be a taxi cab driver.

  • Enough is enough. If they are here illegally send them home. This country does not need immigration, it can not afford it!

    Out on the West-coast I am now the minority. Schools spending thousands and thousands of dollors becuase so many kids cannot speak english. I am just tired and paying taxes and seeing it re-distrubuted.

  • Again, we are not going to deport 14 million illegal immigrants. The answer is to put the military on the border, 50,000 or more, along with 30,000 border patrol agents. Tell all illegal immigrants to report to the nearest police station, fire station, or someplace designated to get a green card. Get a complete count of who is here and legalize them immediately. Tell them they have 5 years to lean english and swear Allegiance to our Flag and the USA. I am not for them paying fines as most are poor and that would only hurt them further.

    The answer would be to round them all up, send them back home with a warning. If they set foot in this country again the military will take action!

    I don't agree with "they". I kid (now an adult) who was brought here by no choosing of her own is different than the mother who consciously broke the law.
