Individual Mandate Found

  • Constitutional, all of "ObamaCare" upheld.

    Great win for President Obama.

Note: Now being reported that not all parts may be okay - CNN, Fox, MSNBC all over the place.

Though often asked, God does not take sides in politics or college football.

  • I'm sure you will consider this "spin" and while of course I do not necessarily agree with the decision, I believe this only helps Romney and the Republicans... The mandate was upheld but with a very important and accurate clarification which is that it is actually a TAX. This will not bode well for Democrats as much of what Obama promised is being exposed for the fiction it was all along ("not a tax", "you'll be able to keep your own insurance/doctor", "it will reduce the deficit", etc.). The SCOTUS just energized the right more than any ad, debate, or even candidate for that matter ever could... This just paves the way for control of the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of government at which time Obamacare will be mercifully repealed (after countless millions of wasted dollars). Do the "victory dance" all you like but it will be very short lived... For the majority of Americans who do not support this legislation, break out your checkbooks and volunteer your time to stop the biggest expansion of government most of us have seen in our lifetimes. There is nothing "moderate" about this president nor the leadership of the Democratic party (Pelosi, Reid). You don't need to be a "con" as the liberals on here so affectionately refer to anyone who disagrees with their radical agendas to see this country and our economy is not heading in the right direction.

It's almost morning in America again folks... Enjoy the sunset "hope" and "change" crowd.

The direction we're heading there is no hope for your children's future. We are rewarding individuals that contribute nothing to society. What a victory!

  • Are u a fing idiot. This is the first step towards socialism ou moron. Governmental control of health care and education is next. You gotta be kidding me, how can it be good that the government can make you do something you don't want to do. This is the beginnin dumb ass. Now they will tell you what to eat, and say we won't cover you if you eat it. Because there is only so much care and money to go around. Check with some European countries that when the Dr. Has met the governmental monthly quota allowed they shut office down til the next month. You people need to wake up and see what is happening. Hello European socialism.

  • I am not going to pretend to know the effects of this, but shouldn't this be good news for healthy people?

I don't pretend to understand health care so help me out with all Of the name calling if you can.

Hospitals couldn't turn down the sick anyway could they? Now those who just go to the hospital when they are sick will have insurance that they will pay for by tAx instead of it being pushed onto my deductible and premiums?

I'm confused about what you mean by "government controlled education".

Listen, I have voted for candidates for both parties in various elections, including voting Republican and Democrat for Presidential elections, so I consider myself very much "independent". With that being said, I am very confused about how conservatives could be against this.

This places health care on the individual now - they have to help pay the bill!

It is ILLEGAL for a hospital to deny care for someone, and WE PAY FOR THAT. Now these people MUST have insurance! I think it's great.

I also think this is an investment in our own people. America needs to invest in our health care and education like we do our military if we want to remain a great country, in my opinion.

This is my understanding as well. This was the Republican plan throughout the 80's and early 90's, so I am very confused about all of the anger.

I would like to hear an articulate argument against it, without being called an "fing idiot" or a "socialist".

And why is that rewarding people that contribute nothing to society? Should someone's health depend on how much money they have? I know that is what the Cons want, the more money the better everything including the buying of lections. Everything is about money with your side. As long as you have it, it's ok. Yes, what a victory!

I think you will find most people didn't support it because they mistakenly thought it was unconstitutional and know almost nothing accurate about it (thanks Fox news). Since it is constitutional, the benefits will start to sway opinion. One follow up statement though. IN YOUR FACE!

    I'm a bit giddy.

I lean right, but don't understand this hatred outside of the political aspect.

What is the impact to me?
What is the impact to the government?

It seems like my costs could actually go down and it seems like it is self funded. Am I wrong? I hate government programs as much as the next guy but I seems like we are just shifting numbers around and making sure that everyone is Axcounted for.

Yes, you have figured out Obama and his dictatorship. Go to the front of the Con Wingnut line. Next is everyone must become a Muslim. Then no more votes, Obama will be King of America, long live King Obama. Then only minorities will be allowed to have jobs, no Whites. Yeah, check with all the other civilized countries that have healthcare, 26 of them with the US being the one without it. Long Live the King, King Osama Obama!!!

Can you help me clarify. it is unconstitutional as explained by politicians but not as to how it is argued. President Obama said many times it isn't a tax but it was found constitutional as a tax, by not per the commerce clause - which is the problem I had. If you could use this as part of the commerce clause than what couldn't you use it for.

Since we already have MediCare and Social Security, in what way is this a move to socialism. The gov makes you pay into those. You really do not seem to know what you are talking about. Maybe you should turn of Rush and try to think on your own.
