Liberal Fear

  • Look at all the topics lately being posted by Liberals attacking Romney and the GOP. They know what is coming in November, a GOP win. So I say to all my Conservative friends on here who post regularly, relax and enjoy thier meltdown for the next several month's. Enjoy the multiple threads they start bashing Romney, bashing the GOP, bashing the Supreme Court (when they overturn Obamacare), bashing the tax code, etc....

Sit back and enjoy the ride. We are REALLY going to enjoy Thanksgiving this year (after a Romney win and GOP majority in the Senate).

So all the conservative posts attacking Obama are perfectly OK, but Liberals attacking Romney are somehow over-the-top? BTW, did you happen to notice that all the latest posts are from one person - six of them in fact. That hardly qualifies as "Liberals." What's wrong, did dave1954 overload your response mechanism so much you have to "relax?" You and your ilk can't relax, you need to keep spewing on Obama as usual. IMO, turkey in the Warrior household will be undercooked this November.
And if by some miracle your prediction is correct, you deserve what you get - Bush II economics - where everything "trickles" down. Drip, drip, drip. Four more years of that will be worth all the conservative squirming as the economic slide again picks up steam.

  • First, how many post are you responsible for bashing Obama. Pot, meet Kettle. "Liberals" will leave the fear to the conservatives, you guys have far more experience in fear mongering than "liberals" do. You must not be able to use google and check out early polling of voters, but just so you know, Rommney has about as much chance of being president of the united states as I do.

The ability of conservatives to create their own realities is astounding.

You're right. Romney is the one being attacked. Obama has not been criticized at all.

Given the way you conservatives love war and executions, and your hatred for the poor or anyone less fortunate, it is dumbfounding that you are such pussies, who scream like little bitches when one of your own begins to face the same scrutiny that Obama has.

See, Dems are the ones who actually ask questions, so yes, we will have a few for Romney. Like, for example, why does he donate millions to a church that was made up by a con man in the 1800's and which supports pedophilia, incest, child rape, polygamy and the oppression of women? How many jobs were lost in the process of lining his pockets? Which position does he actually take on any issue, since he has taken more than one on most of them?

Yes, Romney will be attacked. Deservedly so. Better get yourself a six month supply of Depends so every time you crap your pants when your guy is attacked it doesn't leave a stain.

Above is EXACTLY what I expect and hope for from liberals... PLEASE attack his religion, wife, family, and even his success in business as that illustrates perfectly your vision (or lack thereof) for the country which I am confident will not resonate with the majority of our citizens. Also, the tough guy routine is particularly entertaining but not at all credible coming from anyone on the left (nice job as well on the intellectual nature of your commentary which also perfectly represents your constituency).

Buckeye Warrior, you are dead on with your analysis and the meltdown has commenced... Dave 1954 has already crashed Bucknuts once today by attempting to start a dozen new threads on the same topic inside of five minutes in the vein and naive belief that anyone actually considers his views informative. In all seriousness, I believe the election will be VERY close and candidly favors Obama if for nothing else he possesses Clintonesque acting and lying ability (and let's be honest, blaming others for your troubles without accepting personal responsibility and expecting to receive something for nothing is a compelling platform for their base). However, if what we are reading on here is representative of their national message, I like our chances more and more.

  • Good luck with that. Only three times has an imcumbent president lost re-election since 1933 (Ford to Carter, Carter to Reagan and W Bush to Clinton).

In two of these elections (Reagan and Clinton), the incumbent lost to a charismatic candidate with the ability to articulate a vision. Romney is not.

Ford lost because he is from That School up North and he was a loser.

Ha Ha, funny stuff. probably at least 90% of all the Romney bashing i have seen and read has been by republicans and now they try to pretend he was their boy all along. As far as the election goes, the only people who seem to think that Romney has a realistic chance are the folks who only get their news from Fox Propaganda. Dude, get out and get some air, clear your head and accept reality.

Again, this is your own reality. Obama's religion has been criticized NON-STOP by the right. He's a Muslim. He's a fake Christian. Sure he goes to church, but we don't like the one he goes to. His pastor is a terrorist.

You guys just cannot take it like you dish it out. I love it. Keep it up! I know you think never conceding a point or admitting a truth is somehow a virtue. Here's a hint: it's not. It just demonstrates weakness and ignorance.

Can't disagree a whole lot here. I wish politics represented more of an intellectual exchange of ideas than it does today. The reason for that is that there aren't a lot of intellectuals on either side of the aisle (though I do classify Obama as one). Obama has proven he is willing to negotiate and compromise. Liberals hate that about him. Few on the right will do this.

If Barry Goldwater was alive and running today I might vote for him. Or another Eisenhower. My voting record is all over the place. Unfortunately, since the religious right began to seize control of the Republican party in 1980 with Reagan, very little of what passes for Republican "ideas" are grounded in reason or reality.

Just a couple of quibbles here with what is otherwise a pretty accurate representation (or rather mis-representation) of our make believe democracy.

One must understand that Obama does not compromise, but instead governs as the hopeless moderate following marching orders that he is. I find it hilarious when the right complains about his (Obama's) socialist, communist, Marxist, atheist, pharmacist, parachutist, whateverist tendencies - as if they actually exist! Part of the reason he is not waltzing to victory is/are the large amount of "hope" voters who will stay home this year after realizing the dreaded buyers remorse. The left (what little there is of it these days) knew long before the '08 election what was coming (Glen Ford and the folks at Black Agenda Report had him pegged to a "t'). This quote (I'd give props to whoever wrote it, but I'm afraid I don't know where it came from) sums up the true leftist position in a way Phil Ochs would be proud of:

The gaping hole in this argument is political convenience; they'll (liberals) toss others overboard just like conservatives, just for different, self-interested reasons. (Proof: let some poor kid displace a liberal child in a prestigious setting. Hell hath no fury like a liberal who takes a hit on their resume).

This is why one has to laugh at these pitiful attempts of political "acumen" that those on the right here dispense. Of course, their heroes have feet of clay as well (hell, they have entire BODIES of clay) but when placed in the us vs. them box so brilliantly constructed by those who use them at their own expense what else can they do? Where else can they go - they're boxed in by their own supposed friends. One almost has to feel sorry for them for being that gullible. Then again, if one looks for others to blame for their own shortcomings then one is an easy target for the carnival barkers.

We truly are living the Pogo promise: We have met the enemy, and he is us. Those of us recovering from believing that political donkeys are different from political elephants can only hope for the day that the fools on the right get tired from having their heads caved in by their own big brothers, and that the fools on the other side get tired of watching Lucy pull away the football yet again.

It's pretty much the only hope we got.

What's the solution? A third party? Fourth? Term limits?

I don't agree that the two parties are two sides of the same coin, but do agree that there are elements and motivations that keep both sides from accomplishing anything noteworthy.

  • You and minsterscum must live in eatch other panties...lol...you guys are the masters at trying to mask your own thoughts and fears by acusing others of what you fear most.

You know damn well that the odds are against unseating a sitting president. Obama has MANY ways to get to 270...Romney has to win the entire south and win all the battlegrounds and then pick off a surprise or two. Obama can lose every single state in the south, because he has California, Oregon, Washington State, NY State, New Jersey, and all the northeastern and some of the mid-atlantic states in the bag right now. He only needs a couple midwestern swing states and its over! If he gets an Ohio or Pa, it will be a landslide.

Now lets check demographics...90% of African Americans are going to vote for Obama...60 - 70% of latinos, and 60 - 70% of women will vote for him as well and women make up 51% of the total population.

The party of hate has only one demographic in its favor, white people and specifically, angry white males. Unless something really bad happens during his campaign, theres is not much of a chance that Romney wins. Anything can happen, but you know this to be true...you guys dont even like Romney because at his core his is NOT A CONSERVATIVE....lol. How funny is that, the red meat party cant even get a conservative candidate. Just get used to having Obama around until January of 2017...lol!

This is hardly compromise talk. Obama is nowhere near a progressive - he is a moderate don't rock the boat lap dog who does as he is told, all the while waiting for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, where he can get a nice gig cozying up to those he was supposedly at "war" with (see Clinton, Bill) and rake in the $$.

C'mon now, you're not really expecting me to buy that "he hasn't been able to accomplish everything he wants yet" line of bullshit, are you? What, I'm supposed to get all damp in the loins when the Buffet Rule gets dragged out, all the while watching Gitmo stay open and drones rain down on innocent civilians in the Middle East under the guise of This Is Approved By The Bat Shit Crazy Far RIght as some kind of weapon in the "war on terror?"

The worst thing one can do is draw ideological lines in the sand and play some kind of bizarre "my dog's better than your dog" game with two political parties that are nothing more than two peas in the same pod, save for the same fringe issues that get dragged out every four years to "prove" the differences. Think we'll ever have instant run-off voting in this country? Public funded elections? Open primaries for all candidates, and equal access? Dream on - neither party wants anything to do with that, lest they be seen for what they are.

What we have here (on the right) is a literal insane asylum - low information voters being fed mis-information on a daily basis, and having their worst fears and prejudices stroked continuously by those who can manifest political and/or financial gain from it. Looking at it from the outside (which is quite easy to do when one's "team" has virtually no chance of getting into the game) it can be easily seen for what it is.This is why it is so troubling (to me, anyway) to hear the same bullet points repeated ad naseum by the Fox viewers who, if they made even the smallest of efforts, would see how they are being played for the fool. Instead, they rationalize this by saying they are not looking for truth, but rather a point of view that they agree with. Think about that for a minute - not truth, just affirmation. Damn.

So, we then turn to the "left", who will (amazingly enough), justify the holes in the armor of their gods by saying - wait for it - "well, would you rather have the OTHER guy?" You see, we'll only put the gun to your head - the other guy will pull the trigger.

Wait, it gets better! Now we have to rationalize less than stellar progressive behavior on the part of said god by using inane phrases like "we'll have to hold his feet to the fire" or "we'll just have to make sure we elect more progressives!" Okay - you're going to try and elect more progressives in a party that has about as much use for them as summer does for snow. Now, don't mistake my point - the progressives are out there, they're just running on political platforms and in political parties that Democrats want nothing to do with. Every time you stump for "not the other guy" you put another nail in the coffin of real progressive change.

If you want true "lefty talk", my friend, then you gotta walk the walk. Obama and his ilk ain't it. Give the right credit - they want to bring the country back to the 1800's, and they're backing the clowns to do it. Their foot soldiers will chop their toes off while believing all the time that the other guy wants to chop off their fingers, and as long as they are willing to swallow the lie-infested swill their leaders could care less.

Sorry, but that is one role model I am not willing to copy.

No matter what animal it rides in on.

  • Look, when it comes down to it, all politicians who have a chance of becoming president are probably scum bags.

With that being said, the scumbag that is currently president, thanks to his "Obamacare", made what would have been a $20,000 hospital bill for the birth of my son only be about $300.

So he will get my vote. I tend to pick the guy that makes my life better, and saving me $19,700 at the hospital did that.

And I don't think Romney is going to win, Obama will take 2012.
