Romney Up Slightly On Obama

  • Yeah, I know it's early and these polls will swing back and forth for the next 6+ months. The problem with this kind of poll is that it doesn't go state by state and count electoral votes.

Gallup poll: Romney, Obama statistically tied in 2012 matchup

..By Holly Bailey | The Ticket – 57 mins ago..
President Barack Obama (Joshua Roberts/Getty Images)A new Gallup poll finds Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama statistically tied among registered voters heading into November's general election.

According to Gallup, 47 percent of voters polled are backing Romney, compared to 45 percent who prefer Obama. That's well within the poll's margin of error, which is plus or minus 3 percent.

While both men are doing well within their respective parties, the most notable finding came among self-described independents, a swing voting bloc that could very well determine the outcome of this fall's election. According to Gallup, Romney leads Obama among indie voters by 6 points, 45 percent to 39 percent.

The survey is Gallup's first daily tracking poll of the general election.

  • There is a poll of polls on Real Clear Politics that averages all of the recent presidential polls and it has Obama ahead by over 3%. It doesn't mean much at this point because it is too soon. If the economy heats up Obama will win. If the economy doesn't add more than 200,000 jobs a month from now until the election Obama will have a hard time winning.

What does Fox have to do with the Arizona Republic? Second, i just looked up RealClearPolitics, which takes the average of all polls that are out, and they have it at 47 to 44 with Obama in the lead. That has Romney sitting pretty good. Once he starts an actual campaign, and people begin to take notice, he will be sworn in as our next President.

  • I think we have one more shot to get it right and if we do not elect the right guy we are going to be in the same lose lose situation as much of Europe in 4 years, a choice between austerity=recession or running out of debt capacity and massive inflation. It is a matter of arithmetic.

  • All Romney has ever done is ruin this country with his business practices. How is he the savior. Shit his dad drove AMC into the ground, he learned from the best how to rape companies ruin lives for profit. Yea voting for that is getting it right.. My ass

Who gives a shitte about Europe. If the Republicans win we will have another financial meltdown like we did after Reagan/Bush and Bush/Chaney. The money always finds a way of disappearing after the GOP rapes the government and Wall Street for it. Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

I assume the choices you list are between Romney last month and Romney this month.

  • Had my mom in the hospital last month the emergency room for 9 hrs... she's 87.. Some Canadians were crammed in the same room with us and they were there for ten hours. They told me our system was sad and felt sorry for us but at least their bill was paid for.. My mom has spent $2000.00 dollars in hospital bills and pills in the last two months and gets $1415 in social security.

  • You want me to go on.. My dad was a die hard Republican watch him die with no help, and leave my mom in debt, He was a war hero flew 52 missions as a nose gunner over northern Africa and Italy in WW2, Sure they gave him a plot to put his ashes and a honor salute but the VA was a joke He looked at me there and said he needed help and all i could think was you voted against it your whole life. Now I n know all you conservative are going to grow up and be rich and don't need help but be careful because you can vote Republican but that doesn't make you one!

That choice is between Romney this month and Romney last month right?

    Déjà vu all over again.
