SCOUS Seems To Like AZ Immigration Law

Here's something that everyone regardless of ethnicity, gender, or religion appreciates and that is being alive... Our law enforcement cannot effectively screen everyone (they simply do not have the resources and manpower). Therefore, they need to be intelligent about where they focus their efforts through a combination of random screening and targeted inspection. It is about results and when we are talking about protecting people's lives liberals are going to need to recognize that the numbers don't lie which is what is driving what you negatively refer to as profiling but what others call common sense. Who exactly is the "moron"?

The moron is anyone who thinks profiling is a good thing.

Can't you say the same thing about any of the Supremes who question from the bench during a hearing. Maybe you should be a supporter of Justice Thomas who chooses to remain quiet.

Justice Thomas remains quiet, with all due respect, because he's a moron amongst legal scholars. Most conservative jurists would agree on this point.

You're right Dave... Let's keep frisking little old ladies and kids with cerebral palsy. Wouldn't want anyone to feel discriminated against because our law enforcement didn't screen everyone equally regardless of the probability that they actually pose a threat. I mean it's not like money is an object either so we can hire as many people as needed to placate liberals demented sense of political correctness.

I'm sure though that affirmative action is a "good thing" in your world... Liberals get to decide when it's appropriate to treat others differently based on ethnicity, gender, religion, etc. Play that card as long as you can use it to your advantage. Otherwise, bring the Sharpton's and Jackson's of the world in to shake down government, private enterprise, and individual citizens for more money to unlevel the playing field.

    Dave,

The simple response, of course, is to include profiling of all those with IQ's below those of potted plants.

In this scenario, I'd veture to say that what a Muslim doctor brings to the table would far outweigh our resident moron and his little old lady world view.

The best part? Somehow, someway, he'd blame "liberals" for infringing on his civil rights.

    I'd pay to see that...

P.S. Per Hannity, the sky color today is "flesh."

    Act accordingly.

So you guys must be furious with insurance companies... After all, they charge young drivers much higher rates than older ones (that's age discrimination). Males are also assessed more expensive premiums than female policy holders (that's sex discrimination). Why do they do this and more importantly how is it justified? It's based on statistical evidence so that the demographics who tend to get in the most accidents bear a higher financial burden. Why would law enforcement not want to apply similar rationale in their approach to work which has much higher stakes? Liberals only seem to embrace the facts that are convenient to them.

I also have to laugh at the monumental hypocrisy the left displays with their feigned concern for Muslim rights.. I'm not advocating anything other than greater scrutiny of this community because of what the statistics support. However, liberals are doing everything possible to court the female vote suggesting they are the ones who support "women's rights". Yet, Islamic culture is crudely oppressive of women and in many sects treat them as little more than property. I guess you take the votes however you can get them, right?

What kills me about this is that Arizona is willing to do what the Feds are arguing they can not . Lol . And people are making this out to be something else.. For god sakes the feds profile. It's in the federal law. Lol . I mean Damn don't the cop ask for ID when they pull you over , and what happens when you don't have that id lol . This is the biggest crock of shit story , lol its already fed law .

The difference is the cop pulling you over did not do so because you "looked" like you needed to be questioned. He pulled you over for a traffic violation - then questioned you.

Profiling has about as much to do with rating insurance policies as ducks have to do with lumberyards, but don't let that stop you from once again spewing forth yet another in your great series of "EXAMPLES!!!"

However, if we take your pitiful example to its absurd conclusion we must then state that Muslims are responsible for the majority of all terror attacks (based on a sample of one), blacks are responsible for the majority of crime (since I'm sure the police force in this country is color-blind), and deer are responsible for the majority of song bird deaths, since the ones in my yard knock over the bird feeders and eat the food.

Perhaps some day the concept of a self-fulfilling prophesy will enter your feeble mind, but I doubt it.

Until then, carry on with the craziness, and don't be too upset while we make fun of you at every opportunity. It's not often we get a gold plated piñata to beat on.

I've got a few random "lock-stepper" talking point thoughts for you for and the liberal left, who wouldn't know a morally, ethically, and financially bankrupt country unless it bit them in the ass

    - there's absolutely no reason for anyone to prove who they are in order to vote
    - there's absolutely no reason to drug test welfare, food stamp and unemployment recipients; what's the big deal?
    - oil companies are bad; oil companies are greedy; oil companies gouge the consumer; oil companies must be controlled
    - bankers and Wall Street are all corrupt; they make too much money; they are evil; they are the cause of all our problems
    - tax the rich; tax the millionaires; tax anyone wealthy; tax anyone that makes more money than me
    - it's really no big deal half the country pays no income taxes
    - everyone must pay their fair share, especially those greedy, succesful, "wealthy" people
    - it's discrimination for the states to target illegal aliens; the fed is doing a great job securing our borders
    - Obama gives great speeches, therefore he is a great leader
    - anyone who doesn't agree with Obama or his agenda is a racist
    - everything wrong with this country is the fault of those damned obstructionist republicans
    - coal and oil are evil; we must make fossil-based fuels so expensive green energy will be more attractive
    - we must throw large amounts of money at green energy companies; business plans and cash flow are not important to that decision
    - we must first pass the healthcare bill to find out what's in it; it's a constitutional right for everyone to have health care
    - we can government stimulate our way to prosperity; all we need is more time and more of someone else's money
    - let's re-write bankruptcy law especially for the auto companies
    - all homeowners who lost money in real estate have been taken advantage of by corrupt lenders
    - unions are good; corporations are bad; workers must be protected from evil employers
    - job performance has no place in the workplace, particularly for teachers and union employees, both public and private
    - what's the big deal about the states' unfunded pension liabilities? just raise taxes on the wealthy
    - anything the EPA, NLRB, NAACP, Black Panthers, OWS, et al, do is good
    - companies shouldn't be allowed to make their own decisions on where to locate new facilities
    - greedy corporations don't pay enough taxes
    - higher taxes lead to higher tax receipts
    - it's a good thing to have the highest corporate tax rate in the entire world
    - the Tea Party is a bunch of right-wing, bible-thumping, skin-headed, racist, uneducated radicals
    - man-made climate change is proven, confirmed by all the "experts", end of story; there is no debate
    - why shouldn't a woman be entitled to free birth control paid for by everyone else? it's healthcare

What color is the sky today, booby?

Gray skies as far as the eye can see while this clown is in office.

No website, and as to your brilliant reply, is that the best you can do? An emotional, condescending reply is the trademark repsonse of the liberal mind on much of this board. No one believes them? Seriously? Your unliateral dismissal, "it's not even worth disproving them" only confirms for me you're part of the left's big flock of blind sheep. Anything I put on that list is vehemently defended by the left in, well, just about any thread on this board or anything that passes for progressive "journalism" these days from your "reputable" sources like ABC, NBC, CNN, the Huffington Post, (yeah, right) or MSNBC.

As to critical thinking, my critical thinking, as a businessman, slants towards the rights of individuals and businesses, rather than the emotional, elitist, kumbaya, socialistic, confiscatory, wealth redistributing doctrine you and others like to pass off as "critical thinking." Rule #1 for the liberal mind, deflect, followed closely by Rule #2, demean. Works every time, and your leader is the king of those tactics.

From a simplistic drivel standpoint, do you really disagree with pay for performance vs. tenure and lifetime guaranteed jobs? Do you really think that the most important civil action a US citizen takes, voting, shouldn't require the individual to prove who they are? Do you really believe that recipients of welfare, food stamps and unemployment benefits shouldn't be drug tested, while the working taxpayers who fund those benefits are, for the most part, are? Do you really believe that private companies aren't concerned about the NLRB, labor unions and the decisions they make when opening new facilities? I know the Fortune 50 company I work for is.

So what is critical thinking in your world, with Obama's quest for a nirvana-like society and his redistribution agenda? What actually will happen to this country when we all run out of other people's money? A "critical thinker" might argue we've already run out of other people's money.

US Public Debt as a Percentage of GDP:
    http://www.economist.com/content/global_debt_clock

    2005 - 37.2%
    2006 - 36.8%
    2007 - 36.5%
    2008 - 42.1%
    2009 - 52.0%
    2010 - 61.2%
    2011 - 68.9%
    2012 - 76.3%

I believe I've spotted a trend, but since I'm not capable of critical thought let's just blame it on Bush, the time-worn, time-tested response from the left. I suppose you're on the side of believing Obama's a great leader because he gives a great speech. To many he's the antithesis of a great leader because he seldom takes responsiblity for any outcomes, and the best the left can do is label anyone who disagrees with his policies or calls him out a fear-mongering, uneducated racist. How original. Great leaders take responsiblity, unite, and provide a vision - all he does is make excuses, divide, pander and expand government. Forgive me, I guess he does have a vision - to expand government to the point of where we become another Europe.

Ah Ryan you think you're so clever to change the subject. Here's a little personal story from me to you. My son pitched for the University of Toledo. In March 2002 the team took their spring trip to Orlando. My father in law had died in November, the week before the SCUM game in Columbus. My mother in law was living with us, she had Alzheimers and couldn't stay alone so when we decided to follow the team toOrlando she went with us. Now here is a 78 year old with Alzheimer's going thru the metal detectors at the airport and guess what, they stopped her and made her take off her shoes. Silly right? So I have been through this before so let's play the game. Profiling is wrong and if you and others had their way only "certain" people would be profiled. That is until a little old lady gets on a plane and blows it up.

Trust me, Simple Simon, that is NOT a road you want to go down.

As for willful ignorance, that is the domain of the true believer, of which you are most assuredly one.

What you see as credible information (i.e. whatever reinforces your already held opinions) is seen by those of us with no ax to grind as just another piece of propaganda/messaging/advertising used to further the cause. RIght or left - doesn't matter. Lots of folks make very nice livings massaging the message, and for you to think otherwise is both foolish and naive.

As for "broadcast news", I wouldn't give it the time of day. Anyone with even the slight awareness of how "news" is manipulated for mainstream consumption would laugh at your assertion that watching "news" somehow equates to being "aware."

Information is available from a myriad of sources - NONE of them have the initials ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, or FOX.

And let's just see how far Obama goes to glorify his role in the death of Bin Laden since that's about all he has to run on. Go ahead and campaign away on a topic the left would surely chastise the right on if the roles were reversed. Why don't we just stir up and inflame some Muslim passions by commemorating the one year anniversary? Hypocrites abound.

As for GM, re-written bankruptcy laws to allow for $38 billion of tax loss carryforwards, an unprecedented event by virtue of any other corporate bankruptcy, is the albatross around US taxpayers' necks. No GM cars for this taxpayer. Ever.

Was it Obama who stood on an aircraft carrier with a banner behind him assuming the mantle of 9-11 president? Wasn't it Guilani who used a noun, a verb, and 9-11 in every sentence? However Obama chooses to use the death of Bin Laden and others will pale by comparison. IMO, he has been extraordinarily humble about it. We would love for him to stick his chest out and go "all-Dubbya" about it, but that's not his nature. Leave that crap to guys like Cheney, who would lay claim to masterminding the Normandy Invasion if they could. Cheney revises history on a weekly basis. At some point it will be Obama who drove one of the trucks sneaking WMD's out of Iraq.

Exactly - lock-step, taken directly from Rush, Sean, Bill, and Glenn. Your stereotypes have been around for years. Look at every one of them - pure right-wing propaganda. Thanks for listing them for me. I wouldn't have been able to take that much time on bullshit.

Now that W is gone liberals have gone to blaming everything on conservative talk show hosts.

I love how you keep bringing up Fox News. I love that Liberals hate it with a passion.

    Well, it certainly works!

You see, you keep incessantly referring to me as a "liberal", when I am of course nothing of the sort.

However, in order to continue to live in the up is down world you seem to inhabit it is imperative that you label groups as "good" or "bad", as this makes life easier.

Were you to actually sit back and reflect on what you are being told, rather than accepting it with a flourish, you'd begin to understand what is truly going on.

If, by some chance, you could actually put aside your hopeless prejudices and ask yourself "hey, is this really true?" rather than allowing it to cloud your already questionable judgment, then maybe you could see what is and is not true.

If, by some chance, you had the ability to look at things with an unbiased eye rather than through the pitiful prism of a true believer, you might find the answers to some of your questions.

The options are there for you - should you wish to truly uncover the truth you supposedly seek. It requires reading, and studying, and going (sometimes) to places that your fellow true believers will call "evil", or "commie", or "lib", or anything else they can use to demonize the SOURCE rather than the message. See, if they can get you to believe in the spuriousness of the source than half the battle (for them) has been won. All they need to do now is to get to to believe their "side", and that's a piece of cake considering how softened up you've become.

Here's a challenge for you - I'll post a piece from a source, but I won't tell you which one. Your job is to effectively refute the facts presented therein. NOT to discredit the source, but to attempt to disprove the facts. We will keep opinion out of the challenge - this will be your chance to show everyone here that you've risen above the third-grade pitiful musings of Hannity and Limbaugh and are able to discuss an issue without resorting to the sophomoric straw man junk that permeates almost everything that you post. Please feel free to have anyone else that agrees with you help out - I'll make the same offer to those who are in agreement with the piece. The one caveat I have is that I am not looking for true-blue Obamabots to chime in. That's not the road I travel. I find the political right (in today's terms) to be insane, but the alternative (as constituted in our farcical two-party system) is not much better.

    Can you do it?
