'Who will help me plant my wheat?' asked the little red hen.
'Not I,' said the cow.
'Not I,' said the duck.
'Not I,' said the pig.
'Not I,' said the goose.
'Then I will do it by myself.' She planted her crop and the wheat grew and ripened.
'Who will help me reap my wheat?' asked the little red hen.
'Not I,' said the duck.
'Out of my classification,' said the pig.
'I'd lose my seniority,' said the cow.
'I'd lose my unemployment compensation,' said the goose.
'Then I will do it by myself,' said the little red hen, and so she did.
'Who will help me bake the bread?' asked the little red hen.
'That would be overtime for me,' said the cow.
'I'd lose my welfare benefits,' said the duck.
'I'm a dropout and never learned how,' said the pig.
'If I'm to be the only helper, that's discrimination,' said the goose.
'Then I will do it by myself,' said the little red hen.
She baked five loaves and held them up for all of her neighbors to see. They wanted some and, in fact, demanded a share but the little red hen said, 'No, I shall eat all five loaves.'
'Excess profits!' cried the cow. (Nancy Pelosi)
'Capitalist leech!' screamed the duck. (Barbara Boxer)
'I demand equal rights!' yelled the goose. (Jesse Jackson)
The pig just grunted in disdain. (Harry Reid)
And they all painted 'Unfair!' picket signs and marched around and around the little red hen, shouting obscenities.
Then the farmer (Obama) came He said to the little red hen, 'You must not be so greedy.'
'But I earned the bread,' said the little red hen.
'Exactly,' said Barack the farmer. 'That is what makes our free enterprise system so wonderful. Anyone in the barnyard can earn as much as he wants. But under our modern government regulations, the productive workers must divide the fruits of their labor with those who are lazy and idle.'
And they all lived happily ever after, including the little red hen, who smiled and clucked, 'I am grateful, for now I truly understand.'
But her neighbors became quite disappointed in her. She never again baked bread because she joined the 'party' and got her bread free. And all the Democrats smiled. 'Fairness' had been established.
Individual initiative had died but nobody noticed; perhaps no one cared so long as there was free bread that 'the rich' were paying for.
EPILOGUE
Bill Clinton is getting $12 million for his memoirs.
Hillary got $8 million for hers.
That's $20 million for the memories from two people, who for eight years repeatedly testified, under oath, that they couldn't remember anything.
IS THIS A GREAT BARNYARD OR WHAT?

With all the pigs and ducks and cows I thought this was a thread about Republican porn.
I know your assertion that only conservatives work for a living in this country plays well to those who never question anything they're told by anyone on the right, but perhaps someone could read this to them:
http://www.addictinginfo.org/2012/03/11/red-states-are-the-real-welfare-states/
It says, and I'm paraphrasing here, that Republicans are a bunch of hypocrites. Yes, scream all you want about how it's all the lazy Dems who are destroying the country, but if it wasn't for blue states, you'd have no one to take money from. Where would all your welfare come from then?
Keep trying to get the myth that conservatives are self-sufficient to stick. I don't know who you're trying to convince. Dems already know better, and you never had to convince Republicans in the first place- they aren't asking questions, so you don't really need to explain anything.

What tickles me about not only this post, but all these political posts is that they all have one thing in common;
They all claim, or in this case infer, that the other side/party is to blame or is misguided for where we're at.
I wish people like this would just wake up and realize, that be it a politician who is a democrat or republican, or a politician that is president or alderman, or a politician that is a congressman or senator, at the end of the day they're politicians all the same. Things became shitty under Bush and things are unable to be fixed under Obama. Neither has REALLY made any improvements, yet you people still talk about them like if they were republican instead of democrat or democrat instead of republican that shit would be different.
Stop drinking the damn kool-aid people!

I couldn't have said it any better myself. I'm a business owner, and I see the trend toward an entitlement society. I think it's generational. Younger workers expect things to be given to them. Younger workers walk in the door expecting to start with a high six figure salary, work 20 hours per week, make their own schedule, and have two months paid vacation.

I agree with you on this. I see the entitlement as well. I see plenty of seemingly able-bodied young men on welfare or on disability because of ADHD. They expect service for free and have no gratitude for it.
As a believer in evolution, I think the problem is that we have interfered with natural selection to the point of our detriment. Evolution was marked by survival of the fittest. Now we allow the laziest to just be taken care of. It's a huge problem, but I am not sure what the solution is.

Wow, this is one wacked interpretation of history. You must have attended a Glen Beck history seminar.
While there is a grain truth in what you wrote, such informal interventions never came close to meeting the needs of more than a tiny part of all who who needed it. In most civilized societies throughout history there has been some type of assistance for some of the needy paid for by the citizens of that society. The majority of the weak having no power of any kind, including political, have always suffered when left to the charity of others.
If you really think the poor, elderly, handicapped, and other people in severe need for whatever reason were all well cared for throughout the history, you need to read some more history. Here is a start:
