So who else is quietly expectant and secretly

  • Just read on Yahoo, the networks and they are projecting Obama wins Pennsylvania, huge turn of events.
This could be a barn burner.
Lead in Ohio looked pretty safe according to one analyst, who showed the saving of the auto industry played big in Ohio, and huge in Michgan. Michigan reported Obama fast, no surprise really, but a good amount of electoral votes.
Will all those chicken scratch small states out west add up enough for Romney?

This is the only reason I vote. Sadly, I believe the whole thing is an illusion. No real choice. No difference. The two parties just manipulate the population and pit us against each other. Mostly based on non sense that isn't or wont ever become true. I'm with ohiost83. The Federal Reserve is in charge. He who holds the purse strings as they say. Mainly, it just makes for good theater. Maybe good isn't the right word. Tragic? Ultimately everyday including tomorrow morning I have to wake up and make my own fortune. That won't ever change regardless of who sits in that big White House.

Most presidents are puppets, held captive to what the federal reserve does and allows them, and how they interact with Congress. Lets be real.

You know it blew my mind to learn that the federal reserve is actually a privately owned bank. Scary stuff.

Yep, Federal Reserve can make or break a president, that is fact.

Fox Sports reporting Obama to win Wisconsin. No shock, Ryan's bone head remarks about Wisconsin shortly after he was picked for VP did him in, what a stupid statement he made public about taking on unions like in Wisconsin, brilliant PR.

  • Sure sounds like Obama is going to win from watching CNN. Romney needs to win both Florida and Ohio to turn the tables. This whole thing is exciting, I'll admit it. The electoral college is really a flawed and outdated system, but it sure as hell makes things more interesting on election night.

Sounds like Ohio is Obama's, just a matter of time.
The auto bail out played huge in Ohio and Michigan, and you have vendors and steel suppliers tied to that as well, which helps Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Illinois and other states or counties two US auto giants are tied to and their huge amounts of suppliers.
The last two debates it was rumored a more aggressive Obama took momentum away from Romney in round one, he seemed to ease off the pedal in those last two debates.

Governor Scott Walker took them head on and the people of Wisconsin are reaping the benefits.

But isn't that's what is wrong with politicians? Ryan spoke from the heart about how he really felt and you say it's a bad move.

From a PR perspective it is. You talk about unions and taking on that kind of work environment in this economy, those words and phrases echo around for a while and come back and haunt you in those key battle grounds.
You can speak from the heart all you want, you can also put your foot in your collective mouth for an election, and that is what Ryan did.
He can pull it out now any time he likes. Not a smart move at all.

Yeah, and I am sure Ryan in not hiding behind tax breaks, hidden agendas with big time right wing power brokers, and professionals and companies greasing his skids.
If he is, he is the only politician at his level to be doing that. They all are crooked, including Ryan.

You didn't answer my original question, are you a Paulbot?

I'm not saying Ryan is a saint 83, but I'm merely pointing out the absurdity of our political system when someone points out the obvious and what's right he gets killed. More a commentary that our country is going to hell in a hand basket.

  • By the time this is over, it will be Obama's by a large margin of electoral votes. It isn't close - the news outlets are just making it look that way to keep eyeballs on the screen. Say "hello" to class warfare...

  • I was pretty wrapped up in all this until I realized that my vote could not be taken seriously. For some reason this past weekend, I asked myself a hypothetical question. "If I had to chase between my candidate winning and the Buckeyes beating Michigan this year which would I choose?" .......All I can say is Go Bucks!!!

Yup, but the popular vote will be razor thin and may favor Romney.

I am just so deflated, I really am.

What makes you think that? Everything I am seeing tells me Obama is going to win both the popular vote and the electoral college.

I think it will be much closer than a "large margin".

As for what we might call a "bifurcated population", you are right, IMO.

Too many now living off of the productive taxpayers.

Fox now predicts OH to Obama.......the deal is sealed.

I have yet have an election directly affect my living situation or personal success.

I've always felt that way before I lost my job this summer. I'm in Toledo now. I have a master's degree and a journalism degree from OSU, and it's absolutely impossible to find a job. I've applied for 60 or so jobs, and this week I have an interview to be a substitute high school teacher for about 80 bucks a day. That's it. I've applied for jobs I'm qualified for. I've applied for entry level jobs as a teller at a bank. Nothing. When I look for jobs, it seems the only things readily available are for nurses and truck drivers.

I have some friends who have family that own fairly large companies who say that when the Obamacare requirements kick in next year, there are going to be more layoffs to balance the books. I'll probably be joined by a lot more people trying to get a job.

On top of the economy, we have the huge problem of debt. The Republicans spent record money under Bush. Obama has tripled those numbers. We're heading towards Greece and Italy. Both parties will get us there, but it's pretty clear that Obama will get us there faster. It's not all his fault, but he's definitely made it worse.
