I hate how people think its a racist thing. I don't feel its Zimmerman fault he was honing in on a black guy. I'm not racist and have quite a few black friends so don't take this the wrong way. Black males are improsoned more than any other race. A community which is mostly of black males has an extremely high crime rate. Not many people can argue with that. Black males are most likely to be gang involved. Not saying all black males are bad but statistics tell all. So I don't think it's his fault he felt threatened by a black males. I hate to put that out there but for anyone that thinks I'm racist or biased i'm letting you know i'm stating complete facts. If you think i'm racist do some research on what i've said. I hate to post this but he felt threatened, was attacked first I don't care if he was following him, and acted on it. He will go down though because the police asked him to stop following the kid and he did'nt. It could have been avoided and yes I feel he should go down. I think he could have got ahold of the kid and held him down before he shot him.
MY HEART AND PRAYERS GOES OUT TO THE FAMILY. AGAIN, THIS IS NOT MEANT TO OFFEND ANYONE. IT IS A TOUCHY SITUATION TO GET INVOLVED IN. WE NEED CHANGE AND IT STARTS WITH YOU. PLEEEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEEEEEEE LEAD BY EXAMPLE.

I agree, Sharpton and Jackson are stirring alot of stuff. I heard a protest with Sharpton him sayin "we are tired of goin to jail for no reason, and not coming home for supper" when 90% of the crimes towards african americans are from african americans. He's acting like it's the 50's. Its stuff like this is why we as a country can't come together.

Let's all admit we don't know the full story. The media has, with political purpose, gone overboard to portray Martin as an innocent child. Just look at the pictures they posted. Zimmerman looks like a thug and Martin (obvious grade school picture) looks very cute with that young childish, innocent smile. It will be so telling when they post the autopy results of drugs (if any or what type) found in Martin's body. We will know if he was high which would have made him combative and confrontational. The 911 tapes of Zimmerman; when he was told not to follow shows that he agreed. The confrontation and shooting happened after so it seems. There was an eye witness that will testify on behalf of Zimmerman. So we really need to wait and see how this all shakes out. I am in no way condoning the killing of a young man. Just innocent untill proven guilty. Sharpton, Jackson and the black panthers need to stay out of this. We all know how they try to drum up hysteria and have been wrong in their assesments in the past.

The media was real quick to point out that this was a shooting of an innocent person. Zimmerman has a broken nose and cuts on the back of his head from getting beat up by Trayvon. A neighbor witnessed Zimmerman screaming and getting beaten up by Trayvon before he shot Trayvon. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-03-27/trayvon-martin-was-killed-after-confronting-shooter-city-says.html Zimmerman was an idiot for following the kid but the shooting was self-defense. One of these days the media will learn to cover the story in an objective way instead of instantly declaring someone innocent or guilty.

Police investigated Trayvon Martin over jewelry
By KYLE HIGHTOWER Associated Press The Associated Press

SANFORD, Fla. (AP) — Women's jewelry and a watch found in Trayvon Martin's school backpack last fall could not be tied to any reported thefts, the Miami-Dade Police Department said Tuesday.
The Miami Herald in its Tuesday editions reported that it had obtained a Miami-Dade Schools Police Department report that showed the slain teenager was suspended in October for writing obscene graffiti on a door at his high school. During a search of his backpack, the report said, campus security officers found 12 pieces of women's jewelry, a watch and a screwdriver that they felt could be used as a burglary tool.
Martin's fatal Feb. 26 shooting in Sanford, Fla., by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman has caused a national firestorm. His family and people at rallies all over the country have demanded the arrest of Zimmerman who says he shot the unarmed 17-year-old in self-defense. Martin was black and Zimmerman's father is white and his mother, Hispanic. Martin's family and their supporters believe race played a part in the decision not to charge Zimmerman.
The Herald reported that when campus security confronted Martin with the jewelry, he told them that a friend had given it to him, but he wouldn't give a name. The report said the jewelry was confiscated and a photo of it was sent to Miami-Dade Police burglary detectives. Miami-Dade school officials declined Tuesday to confirm the report when contacted by The Associated Press, citing federal privacy laws regarding students.
Miami-Dade Police confirmed that it had been asked by school police to help identify the property taken from Martin's backpack. It notified school police that the jewelry did not match any that had been reported stolen.
Martin had previously been suspended for excessive absences and tardiness and, at the time of his death, was serving a 10-day suspension after school officials found an empty plastic bag with marijuana traces in his backpack.
His parents and their lawyer, Benjamin Crump, have said such reports are irrelevant to the shooting and part of an attempt to demonize Martin. Crump did not return calls to The Associated Press on Tuesday.

The kid was shot in the back. Unless Zimmerman has extra long arms, you can't claim self defense while you're shooting someone in the back. Anyone ever think that the kid was scared as well because he was being followed and subsequently beat up by a 30-40 year old man?? And he was unarmed? Zimmerman shot him because he let the situation get the best of him and not because he was trying to defend himself.
