Three things:
1) No, I've never created even a single job
2) If you think that by doing 1) that contributes to 2), then no again
3) This is the best one - even though I never created a single job, I was for many years involved in a very lucrative field. I left it for moral reasons after way too long a period time (so yes, I am guilty of not doing so sooner, but at least I had the epiphany before I did any more damage).
The folks who are left (you know, the so-called "job creators") are presently raking in very hefty bonuses and rapidly obscene salaries, and guess what! The only "jobs" they create are in Bangladesh, and Vietnam, and Cambodia! The "job creators" are raking in the bucks - at your expense - all the while laughing their asses off at you for continuing to give them carte blanche to ram it right up your back door!
Now, the choice is yours as to whether to believe me or not. If there was a way to, you know, make a "Romney bet" with any of you with regards to same, I would do so in a heartbeat, and give the winnings to Planned Parenthood. Until then, however, you'll just have to take me at face value, or not.
I know these clowns like the back of my hand. They have no more interest in making sure you have a good paying job than any of us do at getting Michigan season tickets.
They ARE, however, eternally grateful for Fox news and the intellectually challenged dolts like yourselves who hang on its every word, and believe its every utterance, no matter how absurd.
Remember to check the sizes of their yearly bonuses the next time they feed you pablum about unions ruining the country, or immigrants taking jobs, or health care being rationed. Check the bonus or stock options they get the next time they lay off 250 workers, or close down a U.S. facility. Check the incentive check they get the next time the price of their goods remain high, even after layoffs that they made you believe were necessary to continue to grow and strengthen the "team," and even after the cost to make them went down by 80%, courtesy of sweatshop central in the Far East.
They got a perpetual marketing job to do, and the best part is they got a shitload of dumbasses who'll carry their water.
For free.

I think you destroyed a fifth of bourbon.
On a serious note, try and understand that your "arguments" are nothing more than third grade reiterations of talking points, with the added bonus of a "your momma" thrown in every once in a while.
This is why I do not try and engage you on an intellectual level. You are so hopelessly overcome with zealotry that you can not even make a simple point without referring to what the "other side" does.
This is the by-product of Fox news.It has given us a culture of folks so intellectually vapid, so devoid of the ability to debate even the simplest of points that those of you who believe it have become what you are.
If you're old enough, go back and watch some tapes of the old Firing Line show, with Bill Buckley. An absolutely brilliant debater, his discussions with Nick Von Hoffman were casebook in how to effectively argue a position. I disagreed with him on almost every thing he said, but respected his ability.
Fast forward to today - buffoons like Hannity and Limbaugh spew out whatever they're told, the bubbleheads at Fox spew faux indignation whenever Ruppert tells them to, and the buffoons like you who suck it all in find themselves unable to debate their way out of a paper bag with a hole cut in the bottom.
Not only do I feel sorry for you, I feel deeply saddened that a large portion of our culture, with so much opportunity for education and study, has been reduced to straw man stupidity and bumper sticker logic, all masquerading as insight.
Carry on BW, but don't think for a minute that anyone outside of the cadre of true believers sees you for anything other than you truly are.
A man who has, by his own choice, opted to live as a small minded guy, trapped in an even smaller box.

I do enjoy Fox news, but I'm far from a dolt. You my friend are a true intellectual. You've never been a producer, yet you have a clear picture of the mindset of those on the opposite side of the fence. I could argue that I have a more accurate world view than you, as I have been both a worker and producer. I have navigated the world as both an employee and employer. It's easy to pick a side when you're world view is contrived from a single prospective.

I have been to Canada. They have Socialized Medicine. I would say that works great, except a lot of Canadians choose to get their health care in America. Heck, it was just a couple years ago that the Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador came to the USA for a heart procedure. He was just one of the ones caught doing that. Most Canadians with money elect to come to America to get their healthcare.
Though often asked, God does not take sides in politics or college football.

Tim,
Are you kidding? There are exactly three (yes you can count them on one hand) private hospitals in the United States that do no except Medicare or Medicaid. What does this mean? Any hospital in the US that accepts Medicare or Medicaid cannot deny a service based on ability to pay. Ask BucksinWA, I'm sure he sees it on a daily basis. Any one of those 50 million (many of them who are here ILLEGALLY) that you claim don't have coverage can walk into a hospital of their choosing and have the 100k dollar procedure free of charge. I actually contribute to the system to the tune of millions of dollars, but despite a disproportionate contribution, I'm eligible for none of the benefits.
Odd how those who contribute the most receive the least. I can't wait until one of my kids applies for a Pell Grant, "I'm sorry son, your dad makes too much money. Have him write you a check for college. This is for people that contribute nothing to the system". You have to love the fact that the guy that contributes 12 million dollars in taxes over his lifetime is eligible for less than the guy that puts in 30k. The masses scream the wealthy need to help out, make sacrifices, and contribute an even more disproportionate share of taxes. I did the math, and I paid enough in personal taxes (not including payroll taxes for my employees which everyone forgets about) to take care of 54 families of 4. That's 216 people . Call me crazy, but I think I'm already doing more than my share.

I am all for it. I am just against Obamacare. It was sold as one thing and turned out to be another. Obama should have seriously sat down with the GOP and hammered out a Bi-partisan Bill that would both work and be Constitutional. Also, he LIED about how much it would cost. He should not have been citing those "accounting gimmicks" as the true cost. He should have been completely upfront about it.

Just a quick shout-out to all of you who frequent the Hot Spot. I truly enjoy reading your thoughts. There's been a lot of good discussion. I should have been an attorney given how much I seem to enjoy heated debate. Of course I enjoy reading the posts that back up or support my positions, but the ones that stimulate my mind and get it revved up are the ones I completely disagree with. I try to think about where you're coming from. It forces me to examine my own views more closely. I'm a philosopher at heart.
I am hoping I have time tomorrow, or maybe Thursday, to post something on the Front Row that I think all Buckeyes will enjoy reading- no controversy- just a cool story about the tie that binds all of us.

Absolutely right. Don't tell anyone, but I am sitting in my ER now trying to decompress. So far I've probably seen five patients who either just want drugs and lied about it or who told me they came here because "it's free." Two Medicaid patients got ticked at me for not prescribing antibiotics for their colds and then said I was the one wasting their time.
Buckeye Warrior, if you catch me at a time like this you might be able to get me to go along with any conservative plan you've got!
Not all patient encounters are like this though. Check out the thread I posted on the Front Row about a patient named Maury. I think you'll enjoy it. Those are the things that keep me going, plus literally snatching someone from the world of the dead to the world of the living must feel like winning the NC does!

You know, I think I just figured out why you get me going, BW. You have mentioned name-calling, and I admit that this is common ploy that I and others use when we can't articulate a stronger argument.
But the name-calling you love to do is what sets me off.
I don't care when you throw the socialist word around. I'm not one, but I'm not offended by it because I know that's the "in" thing for Republicans to say.
I don't care if you call me ignorant. I admit when I'm wrong and take no offense to being corrected, and will change my mind if presented with facts that make more sense to me than my current understanding of an issue.
I might care if you called me a wolverine, but you haven't stooped that low.
But stop asserting that I don't understand America, that I don't know what America is all about, that I somehow hate America, or that I am un-American by your standards.
I joined the Army when I was 17 because, in my entire life, every single time I have heard the national anthem I get a chill down my spine. I served for a decade. I'm a law-abiding citizen who pays what I consider to be more than my fair share of taxes toward the common good. I provide for my family and I am willing to put my record of personal responsibility up against yours or any other Republican's. I constantly strive for personal improvement, and I expect the same of my government. Stop confusing wanting to improve America with hating it.
