When Is Harry Reid Going To Submit A Budget?

  • Seattle I believe a stated "you and others spewing this democratic rhetoric could go f themselves". ... Or something like that. By no means was it only intended for your rant and attempt at being a martyr but all others that truly attempt to find the good in everyone ...even the republicans yet come up with these lame false stereotypes. Keep "cheering" each other on with nonsense confirmation of each others hate.

Balance the budget and stop spending money we don't have. Problem solved. Justifying wasteful government by buying into Robinhood political tactics and we will fail like Greece and other European countries. I spoke with business leaders in Italy in 2009 and they recognized the path we were on yet so many are blinded by ideology. Letting academics make economic decisions is comical.

Ah yes, those evil conservatives are going to set women back 40 years!!! OH MY GOD!!!! OH MY GOD!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Women are going to be set back to 1972 if the conservatives get their way!!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

I mean, first, why 40 years? Where did this number come from? What was the formula used to reach this number? Was it something like this: Hysterical Untruth's + Gullible Liberals + Lies + Election Year = 40 years? Could you show me specific quotes from Alito, Roberts, Thomas, and Scalia that say they are out to push back women's right's? Since you are making the claim, I bet you can show everyone on this message board the rock solid proof you have. Surely you wouldn't just be spouting off Liberal Propoganda and be gullible enough to fall for it?

Anyone else starting to get the feeling that BucksinWA and seattlebuck are the same person? It goes something like this: BucksinWA says something hysterical and gullible dripping with Left Wing propoganda, and seattlebuck swoops in to agree and pat on the back. Anyone else noticing this pattern?

Once again the right loves to divert attention away from the real issue. You have one paragraph squealing like a pig. Check. One paragraph trying to argue that because Roe v Wade has not yet been overturned there is no effort by conservatives and their mouthpieces in the religious right to control women's rights. By the way, Roe v Wade was 39 years ago- I do tend to exaggerate, so disregard 40 if it makes you feel better. Then a not-as-clever-as-you-think paragraph that is la piece de resistance for conservatives who wouldn't notice that you have not addressed a single one of my concerns.

Sorry, I didn't mean to use French. I know how the French get conservatives' panties in a twist. After all, those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it. Those who don't know shit vote Republican.

See how I did that? Totally off topic, just like most of your posts.

Let's try some True/False questions and see if any of you conservatives can man up and own anything your party stands for:

    1. BucksinWA was correct in stating that a Republican governor signed a bill requiring an ultrasound before a woman can get an abortion.

    2. BucksinWA was correct in stating that Romney has said he would overturn Roe v Wade.

    3. BucksinWA was correct in stating that Senate Republicans voted overwhelmingly against repealing DADT.

    4. BucksinWA was correct in stating that most Republicans who support women's rights will still vote for Romney (see #2 above, which means that while you may support women's rights, your candidate wants to turn the clock back to 1973.)

I can't wait to read conservatives' responses that have nothing to do with the topic, make no sense, and for which other conservatives will try to clap with their free hand.

Well, if the women in my family are pathetic, then your make believe "sons" that you claim to have (with super duper high security clearances that they share the info with you, their mommy) are pathetic and stupid. Oh, and I didn't mention your name either in this post because your name isn't worth typing. So there.

The budget cannot be balanced by cutting back spending. A robust economy has a constant flow of money throughout, not just directly to the top and into huge bank accounts. In order for a modern economy to grow there has to be a demand for products that people have enough money to buy. Even if jobs have to be created by a government infusion of money, they have to be created in order for people to buy things. Cutting back spending will only lead to Greece, et al.

So you believe we have to increase spending and debt in order to avoid a Greece scenario? I'm of the opposite opinion. Govt entitlement programs do not lead to a robust economy. A stable dollar and competent fiscal policies from DC would help. Granted all economies have cycles and believing we can avoid with govt policies is a stretch. Spending $s we don't have will only put off the pain and increase the I severity of the crash in the future. Look at housing market.

Who said anything about government entitlement programs? I'm a progressive, but I am for a total overhaul of Welfare. Spending for infrastructure is not entitlement, it is producing jobs that provide a product - roads and bridges for a crumbling highways system, large scale energy plants, new schools, etc. All such major projects put people back to work and increase the flow of money, which in turn produces more tax revenue - a concept lost on stiff-necked Conservatives. That helps balance the budget without raising taxes. Government infrastructure projects worked for FDR, Truman, and Eisenhour. Look for such a program to be introduced this Summer. And look for Republicans to vote against it in 100% lockstep (for only one reason), even if some of them are afraid to drive across their local bridges. How pathetic.
If we cut out all "unnecessary" spending and lower taxes on the rich tell me where the money is coming from to balance the budget. As long as Grover Norquist is running the show we will never balance the budget.

Sorry Dave, I used up all my votes, but keep representing.... they're lost and confused.

Tim, Seattle, and Bucksinwa would be proud of you. Just don't quote BW, he's having a snit.

OKAY. YOU DUMBARSES. The Senate has a DEM majority to do what ever they want. 2/3 vote is needed to pass a bill from the House. No Dems are voting for fiscal responsibility because they are lapping at Obamas boots, much to our demise. You really think this thing is going well? Do you?
Look at the chalkboard dummies. The House propose bills, the Senate VOTES. Harry 'I'm not a MORMON' Ried can vote on any bill he wants from the House, but he sits and tables any Repub bill that comes. LIARS are you all who state otherwise, including this lying arse obama.

It is Eisenhower, by the way. Ugh. We got a overhaul of welfare in the 90's thanks to a Repub congress and Clinton working with the same. Do you think TAXING the shiiite out of every little business and excoriating big coal, oil and any other corps this dumbtard wants to debilitate, will produce the monies for the 'infrastructure projects' you think will appear magically with unicorns in America anytime soon?? You farking tards always blame Repubs, but take no blame yourselves for your Socialism. Socialist Democratic Party. Look it up.

Bush pissed me off, but you and your kind are RUINING our nation with your Occupy bs and your PreeZy who self-invites himself for a propaganda gig...sickening.

  • And by the way, for the historically challenged....

In 1957, the state of Arkansas refused to honor a federal court order to integrate their public school system stemming from the Brown decision. Eisenhower demanded that Arkansas governor Orval Faubus obey the court order. When Faubus balked, the president placed the Arkansas National Guard under federal control and sent in the 101st Airborne Division. They escorted and protected nine black students' entry to Little Rock Central High School, an all-white public school, for the first time since the Reconstruction era.[163] Martin Luther King, Jr., wrote to Eisenhower to thank him for his actions, writing "The overwhelming majority of southerners, Negro and white, stand firmly behind your resolute action to restore law and order in Little Rock".[164]

The Republicans didn't filibuster Obama's budget. They didn't have to because the Dems killed it themselves. Reid won't put up a budget because he knows some in his own party will vote against it and that it will go down to defeat in an up and down vote. Lousy answer Dave. It doesn't fly.

Exactly right and this just goes to prove that Dave 1954 has absolutely NO idea what a filibuster is or when it is employed by the opposition. Otherwise he would know that a filibuster has NOT been necessary to turn down the president's budget.
