Buckeyes Get Their Quarterback

Collier has picked Ohio State over Wake Forest, Boston College, Cincinnati and others.

The Buckeyes’ 2014 quarterback puzzle has been solved. Stephen Collier (Leesburg, Ga./Lee County) has committed to Ohio State.

“I'm a BUCKEYE! Let's goooo!!!!” Collier tweeted moments ago. "It's truly and honor and a blessing."

The 6-foot-4 and 208-pound Collier moved into the starting lineup three games into his junior season. He ended up passing for close to 1,900 yards and 21 touchdowns and rushed for almost 500 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Collier committed to Ohio State over scholarship offers from Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Marshall, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee State and a few others.

Collier worked out in front or Urban Meyer and Tom Herman at the Buckeyes camp June 9. He showed Meyer and Herman good arm strength and the potential to develop into a very good quarterback in Meyer's spread offense.

Collier is a 3-star prospect in the 247Sports rankings. He is the country’s No. 14 dual-threat quarterback and the No. 56 prospect in the state of Georgia.

Kurelic’s Comment: Herman was impressed when he recently worked Collier out at Ohio State and the OSU staff feels they have a talented athlete that can run their offense down the road. He is not a finished product, but the Buckeyes don't need him to be right away. He should have time to develop once he arrives in Columbus.
